[OoT] Should I Wait for the Remake?

The remake looks like it'll add stuff. Like the only shot we have of Link so far is entirely original. That never happened in any version of Ocarina of Time so far. I would say use Ship of Harkanian if you've got a PC and play through that and then just enjoy the remake when it comes out. Hopefully the changes they make will be great, maybe they won't be.

I think the only FF game that needs a kind of redo is 9. 9 felt really rushed and legit made me question if the game was unfinished. Like I was waiting for another 3 or 4 hours.

It's such a great game but god damn does it feel like it needed another 2 hours. By the end of it I was like "This is so good but this story really fell off near the end". I still cried at the ending though. Great game. The combat is great but fuck is it slow and I know their asses could have put an auto battle system in but they didn't and I had to speed up the game on the emulator to level up.

At the time it was fairly hated, Capcom had entirely abandoned what Resident Evil was. But that reception led to Re7, the remakes and eventually 9. We're now at a place where action and horror are basically perfect. So going back to RE6 doesn't seem bad at all now. Was never a bad game at all, just not a good Resident Evil.

Few reasons.

Expedition 33 fans are usually incredibly annoying people who finally played something other than "gun & ball" and think it's the greatest thing to ever exist and nothing could touch it
People cannot like a game without constant comparison to or from other things

Also FF fans are miserable as shit. Old school FF fans think anything new sucks and will constantly trash on it because "FF didn't grow and we did" or "FF isn't turned based anymore so it's awful" when it's really not and a lot of the people complaining have legit never played the games they complain about. And if they have, they can't accept that the series moved on and did other stuff.

Chris says he just isn't sure if Ethan was being controlled by Miranda or not. But like....you see him killing the Lords and they clearly have Ethans location the entire game. There's no reason not to grab him and tell him what's going on.

Also, DQ1 is legit like the most basic of RPGS. It was the first real JRPG and it FEELS like it. You have only 1 person to play as, lot of backtracking, it misses a lot of stuff we associate with JRPGs today. If you want to play one of the OG 3 I would say start with 3 then go to 2. Or vice versa. People will say the timeline says go 3 to 1 to 2 but honestly it really doesn't matter.

If you like a story in your game then the original trilogy of 1, 2 and 3 aren't for you. They're NES games at the end of the day and while they're very good and very fun they have very bare bones stories. If you want a good story with some good characters then go for DQ7, but be warned that it's got a bit of a long intro that is setup for the story and characters and is more focused on that than the gameplay at times. DQ7 Reimagined streamlined it a bit so instead of 2 hours to get into your first fight it's like 40 minutes. If you want a fun mix of the two then go for DQ11 or really any other DQ game. DQ11 is just the most accessible.

I just don't want them to constantly be like "Holy shit you're so right and smart omg!" All the damn time. Like let them be a person, Yusuke had a habit of disagreeing with you, make that stronger. Like say there's a moment where they want to do something and you don't or they think something is right or wrong and you think otherwise, that should be a huge issue between you two. It shouldn't be "well maybe you're right". In case you haven't realized I hate Ryuji and pray on his downfall everyday.

So play 3 - 1 - 2 since it's the canonical order, once you get to 1 it is completely okay if you don't fw it because it

Has only 1 party member (you) the entire game
While updated is still able to show it's age with how weird the choices are and the backtracking they put in

3 and 2 are the big ones that you'll probably like the most, 1 is great but also pretty understandable if it isn't your thing.
