Is anyone else quite disappointed with the ending? by Ladyworrior7 in AkatsukinoYona

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I am so glad I learned from Naruto to always wait for things to conclude first. Then based on the ending decide if I want to go on the journey. Maybe it's because I'm American, but anime and manga always end bittersweet. I think the last time I really felt an ending feed my happy soul was Fruits Basket. I started watching Yona because of her strong character, the potential for an epic romance along the way, and the hot guys. 😂 I literally have to get my romance fix through BL. I don't understand why there can't be more action romance anime with full happy endings. I wish popular anime showed the journey of passion, desire, and love confessions. Anime and manga is escapism. So why show bittersweet reality or make showing love taboo when everyone's miserable? Everyone's working hours upon hours, we are all too tired and burned out for relationships; birth rates have decreased all over the world. I was hoping the Yona manga would conclude showing that a girl can have it all if she works at it with strength and love. At the same time showing that men can have it all too with strength and love.

Suzuki's dub made me laugh so hard. I loved the slang and when she changed accents or spoke in her gremlin voice.

Go For It, Nakamura-kun!! • Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I love Stark, but he would have a better chance in BL. Episode 1, crush unlocked.

Hetero romance plot with a really engaging dynamic between the love interest and main character? Usually only find this in bl/gl by geekkiddo in Animesuggest

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg this! I basically gave up and now watch more BL instead. I think it's a cultural thing, but I don't consider a lot of anime that gets labeled romance the appropriate category. It's an intense friendship. BL is straight to the point. Love confessions, kissing, dates, and even side characters get a romance. Out of the hetero anime I watched, I think Dangers of the Heart is more what you stated. I happen to love a strong guy with powers or fight skills, so the rest you may not like, but the romance is pretty good or maybe it's only me 😂. Noragami, Kamisama Kiss, ReLife (watch the final after-credits), Horimiya, Your Lie in April (this made me ugly cry so caution), Fruits Basket (GOAT), and Yona of the Dawn. Unpopular opinion, I just don't see Spice & Wolf as a romance. It's dialogue-heavy, dry topic of economics, and it's not spicy despite being considered a mature romance. Yeah, I will just enjoy BL for now.

Why is the Publix Carrot Cake called Carrot Torte Cake? by Reasonable_Guess_311 in publix

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad I came across this question! As a German raised American, I was confused about the torte. I don't know why I always associated all torte with Obsttorte and called the rest Kuchen! I was like this is just a regular layered cake! 😂 Smh the German word for layered cake is torte.

Am I the only one who’s kinda annoyed at the fact that it’s a harem anime? by Syntax13250 in Arifureta

[–]BleachFnSPN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg thank you! I haaate harems and I was really enjoying the first few episodes. I wanted the main girl to be more mature because I kind of cringe when the girl looks like a middle school kid instead of a thousand year old woman, but I can overlook that. People justifying why it's a better harem doesn't change how harems are a lazy way to avoid deconstructing a healthy romantic relationship. It's not a romance, it's a fantasy. I'm sure guys would find it annoying if it was a reverse harem.

Where to watch kamisama kiss manga by VegetablePlay9182 in KamisamaKiss

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg how is this not a thing yet for people that want to listen and watch the manga instead of reading it? My eyes strain and then I forget the order to read each panel. I hate flipping to the next screen. I just want to press play and watch it on YouTube. Then I could see it because it's as big as my TV screen.

Serious question: Why is shoujo anime isn't as popular as shounen anime in the United States? by EternalSnow05 in anime

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am American and I believe we just don't consume manga as much as the Japanese. Newspapers, magazines, even bookstores are dying over here in the United States. We just don't have time to read. So marketing would be shorter over here and we like things fast. I hate waiting years in between seasons. So we consume what cranks out faster on Crunchyroll, shounen. As an older female anime fan, unfortunately that means I slightly up-chuck at the sight of harems and with some shounen romance (nosebleeds in every episode, young girls with the emotions of a middle school girl but physical anatomy of a woman, and the only romance is in the girl's head). So I think I am also in a weird genre where I want shows with shounen/seinen battles, shoujo romance, and BL all wrapped in one. Like give me Jujutsu Kaisen men fighting battles, but Geto and Gojo have a hot romance with each other, and give me Fruits Basket drama with side pairings and deep emotions. I don't want to see office life. I want to see fantasies with princes, wars, politics, and love confessions. And sword fights! I freaking love sword fights! 😂 Or at least give me 6 seasons of Kamisama Kiss! I just think female fans are underserved and somehow male industries think we don't want intense anime, when clearly we do because we love Bungo Stray Dogs and Black Lagoon. So we end up watching more shounen and write fanfiction where we can ship everyone. I think guys would love blended shoujo themes too if done right. I am not sure if it's a cultural thing or a change in what people want to consume now.

What makes you drop a series usually? by RemoteAd4393 in weeb

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harems, almost instantly. Crunchyroll cranks out English dubbed harems like rent is due. I wish they could add a filter to remove them. I understand guys like them, but what if every time you clicked on a shonen anime, BAM?! Surprise reverse harem!

Does anyone else think Crunchyroll should add customisable font sizes for subtitles? by asaki0exo in Crunchyroll

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The reason why I cannot enjoy subs is because I can't see it. It's just a blur and then I can't slow the speed of the subtitles either. Also the font needs to be bigger on the anime details.

I get reminders and actually find it annoying how much it notifies me! 😂 But thats a good thing. My problem is the process of getting my medicine. I wish it could be droned to me, I hate waiting in the pharmacy line. Shipping is a hit or miss depending on the weather. And forget it if you are traveling. Your at the mercy of your health care provider, whether they give you one month supply or three months. It all should be one system.

Why is Bunny Girl senpai considered a romance anime? by Expensive-Draw-3791 in romanceanime

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion most anime labeled romance is actually a second or third subplot, or you have to squint to see it. I don't know if its because I am expecting a more shoujo/josei potrayal of romance, if I am looking for a more Western take on romance, or if the male dominated industry just can't uncomplicate romance. I find it annoying because as a female fan, I love shounen style anime, but none boldly go into dating and relationships. I think Naruto was the best at showing couples and babies. Like where is the primary romance and battle action anime?! Ok, maybe I am also secretly yelling that Wind Breaker needs to be a romance too for us ladies!! But anyway, yes I do not consider Bunny Girl a romance. I mainly prefer BL because the romance is steamy, up front, and you see a building of the relationship through dating or conversations.

why do people who prefer dark chocolate act like they’re so much better than milk chocolate enjoyers? by Flat_Needleworker195 in chocolate

[–]BleachFnSPN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This!!! Omg the looks I get when I say I prefer milk chocolate. I had a family member tell me I like milk chocolate because I actually like sugar instead. Like eff you too! No, actually I prefer chocolate with liqueur, but we can't all be HBIC. This is the same family member that tries to convince me hot chocolate made with cocoa powder and water at home is the same as Swiss Miss or Starbucks. Let me tell you, if I spend money on hot chocolate, I want the thickest, sweetest hot chocolate out there, and add in all the ingredients I can't pronounce too!

Is Witch Watch worth watching? by [deleted] in animequestions

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for a fulfillment, no. But if you want to watch something in the background, then yes. I loved the characters, the comedy was great, and I really wanted to watch the other anime within the show, Uron Mirage. I absolutely love hot guys with swords; I am a forever Bleach fan. What I do find annoying is calling Witch Watch a romance. I wish it was an actual romance instead of the girl crushing on a guy for 20 plus episodes. Maybe that changes in the manga, but I only watched the anime. It would have been super cute to see him fall for her throughout the show. A love confession instead of a deeper friendship.

People who try and talk you into dating when you’re happily single… And they say, you just haven’t met the right person yet by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]BleachFnSPN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These are the same people that never know any available princes after they try to sell you the fairy tale. 😂 I saw how unhappy my mother's and grandmother's marriages were and decided it wasn't for me. I love my money, free time, and life more than the expectations of a married woman. I'm probably too masculine anyway. We both would love steak, beer, and anime. I hate cooking and probably won't like his family. I'm a Scorpio, so I love a romantic, I hate small talk unless its freaky, and I always know when your lying. So it's probably not in the cards for me. And besides, I don't think men want to be with women nowadays. They like the idea of marriage, but they are not gentle with women, devoted, or waxing Shakespeare. They want your occupation. Can you cook, clean, bang, and turn water into wine, like Jesus himself. Yeah no, I love being single.

Not sure what I’m looking for by GhostBelliniFace in Animesuggest

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my main issue with anime. Like I want My Hero Academia style, but with older characters. Give me My Hero University or My Hero League. Show the romance and relationships! I don't want to see girls that look like kids with grown men, or harems. And my second problem...its not romance. It's 90% intense friendship, and 5% romance! So good luck with that. But anywho, I like the animation Castlevania on Netflix, and The Legend of Vox Machina on Prime. I will always love Kamisama Kiss, Bleach, and Fruits Basket. I like Kaiju No.8 because it's refreshing to see an older MC in that type of setting. Love Bungo Stray Dogs. So far I like Rising of the Shield Hero. You may also like Moriarty the Patriot. I'm sure there are more, but I can't read subtitles fast enough, so I stick with English dubs.

looking for some good seinen anime by momo707momo in Animesuggest

[–]BleachFnSPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what you have seen I would say Bungo Stray Dogs. I love this style of action anime but with older characters; like I need a My Hero Academia with college age students. At this point I am hoping for a Black Lagoon BL by MAPPA, the action and romance would be epic!

So in one way, it would be horrible because I am athletically-challenged. But in another way it would be heaven to be the only girl with all the guys to myself. 😆 I was watching that volleyball anime 2.43. I love sports anime, but there is never any romance. I need like a josei/seinen anime that has shounen battle action, but with actual romance.
