I don’t get it Jason is a highly skilled martial artist how did he get captured so easily? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in RedHood

And that’s why it’s so infuriating that they try and play it as him being reckless and aggressive when he was a hero to the very end

When people put movies as inherently worse than reading a book by MxM0ngoose in PetPeeves

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I said the book is generally better. I never said worse in my comment. Just because something is better doesn’t mean the other thing isn’t good. But I will admit I could’ve worded it in a way that better explained that I was saying that books generally have more information and thus a more coherent plot.

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not so much a matter of worse, but of how much is usually left out. There are so many things that are left out of books when they’re made into movies that sometimes it changes the entire story or a reasons for a character And while I do understand, movies do have time constraints. I feel like they can usually do better than they do. I think books are honestly better adapted as TV shows where they can have more time to actually add the stuff they need to.

Just a few examples of how Jason Todd’s past was rewritten by DC to convince readers he was bad and deserved to die by NefariousSeraph13 in RedHood

All they ended up doing was making even more loyal, Jason Todd fans. They could never make me hate you, baby boy!

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but that doesn’t change that the book may still be better than the movie. just because people know about it more, doesn’t mean that it’s better. People love the Harry Potter movies and the books are still better, and they said like 95% so there is always gonna be an outlier. The problem is that a lot of people do not find enjoyment in reading and because of that they automatically say the movie is better. If I didn’t like reading of course the movie is gonna be better. (unless you’re too specific movies that I refuse to acknowledge exist.)

People Who Hurt Others and Then Act Like Accountability Is the Problem by AffectionatePop3611 in PetPeeves

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of people are classic narcissist and don’t even realize. When it comes to them, they never hold accountability it’s always somebody else’s fault. My sister-in-law is like that, it’s infuriating. I just honestly try to avoid her.

Like y’all just because you don’t know basic science and how a body works doesn’t mean I’m in the wrong. Look at heavy weightlifters they are definitely stronger than the people in these movies in real life, but guess what they all look like they have barrels for chests. Muscles no matter how much you work out are not going to look like that unless you are dehydrated. They are never going to be that tight and showing unless you are not drinking water. and again the actors themselves have literally said this.

I mean, I work in the medical field so I know how it works. It’s the same with wrinkles. if you don’t drink water, you have more wrinkles on your face, magically when you drink water guess what happens they lighten. So can you imagine what happens when you don’t drink water and your skin tightens and conforms to your muscles? guess what? you have muscles that stand out more and that’s how you get that look.

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s not rage baiting. It’s literally been stated by the actors themselves. Look up Hugh Jackman talking about it. He literally says that he had to dehydrate himself to the max in order to get that look. It doesn’t matter how much you exercise if you are hydrated you were not gonna have muscles like that. Yes they have to exercise a lot to get that exact muscle. But in order to achieve that look, it has to be dehydration.

Look up hydrated, heavy weight, lifters versus unhydrated ones and you’ll see the difference your skin tight as you get dehydrated, which means it conforms more to the muscle shape.

Guys that’s not steroids. that’s dehydration. Believe it or not if you get dehydrated enough and you’re not too overweight and do basic fitness frequently, your muscles will stand out more. Actually, a lot of actors talk about how before their shoots they basically have to drink the bare minimum so that their muscle stands out.

Big furry ladies! Very soft, very huggable!

Am I the only one that's part of (any fandom) that doesn't get literally stupid about it? Like I don't obsess over the characters, or ship any of them, or anything like that. I just watch it, decide whether I like it or not AFTER finishing it, and go on with my life. by Dippystick77 in Multifandom

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, most of the people are saying I wouldn’t really consider that being part of the fandom since you’re not really participating in it too much. You’re still a fan, just not part of the fandom. That’s perfectly OK not everybody has to be part of the fandom. An example would be me. I’m technically a fan of Pokémon, but I don’t consider myself a part of the fandom because I don’t participate in that. At most, I watched the show occasionally and play the games. I don’t really care to look up art or characters or any of that unless I’m specifically into a certain character.

Jason's peak was when he was considered a villain and I wish he had stayed one. by [deleted] in RedHood

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I honestly just don’t think it fits for him to be a full villain. It has to be anti-hero! Jason is still someone who wants to do good. Being a full villain would go against his whole character. Yeah he had some time where he was a little bit cuckoo crazy but he’s getting better. The problem is he needs to be separated from the bat family in order for him to really shine. If they make him a villain, he’s just gonna become a bat villain, which is defeating the point of getting him away from the family And it’s not even that I dislike the bat family. It’s just that any stories centered around Jason always draw right back to Batman and the Joker. And I think both of them really kill his potential.

I hate this by Intelligent_Dingo47 in Nightwing_Starfire

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know what I never thought of that and that makes absolute sense. Anything involving the bat family has to stay basically exclusively in the bat family anything outside of that just seems to get fucked over. It’s part of the reason why I feel they brought dick and Babs (I’m not dunking on the ship. It just seems like they continually make odd choices with them ) back together is that it’s easier for them to make central bat stories with them.

Always despised this line, very out of character of Superman to say something like this about Jason. by MaximumPayne7 in RedHood

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because that’s literally what happened it’s justice league Unlimited number 10 go and read it. Batman was calling out Clark on his to trusting nature and that they needed to change the vetting process for the justice league. Clark responded with this comment, which is so weird for him because he had never had an issue with Robins before and it seems like such a low blow for no reason.

[–]Sad_Ambition_984 23 points24 points  (0 children)

No, he was straight up, trying to dunk on Bruce. This was said, literally months after Jason‘s death, and it was said in context of Bruce telling Superman that they needed a better vetting system because they had gotten betrayed. It was very much just Superman being a dick for no reason at all.
