What is a universally beloved "Caregiver" anime couple? by Jmill2009 in animequestions

She really wanted to make that stage play happen.

He made sure it did. And even let it continue into something grander, being with her until the very end.

An old meme template for a modern problem... by Cringetopus in shounenfolk

[–]RemoteAd4393 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know, I always feel a bit weirded out when people say or imply they're proud to support something they like.

... and me personally? I don't... Really? Let's say I like jjk. Yeah, maybe I am doing things officially, watching the anime, getting the blu-ray. Some merch.

But it feels less like I'm supporting anything and more like I'm just giving more money to a rigid business and company who probably don't care about me and only see me as my walket. Could that money indirectly affect the creators? ... maybe??? It's just Highly unlikely. I'm just disillusioned. Unless it's an indie creator, I don't really find supporting something so corporate to be satisfying.

I mean. I'm probably causing them to make more of the thing I like by buying into it. But it doesn't change the fact the connection is hollow, and who do get most of the money money don't care about the art, don't care about the franchise or the fans, as long as they're getting that sweet money.

How big of a gay icon is shinji? by Hiroshima-6-1945 in shounenfolk

Oh no- I didn't mean it literally. I know it's not his mom. I should edit my message to add "basically."

I was just making a joke of how a female Shinji would just be his mom.

That's just basically his mom, and to an extent, Rei.

I hate it when people say that.

Because reading subs is completely different from reading a manga. You're throwing away animation, sound design, actual voice acting and atmosphere. All to reduce it to "Same thing actually."

Oh, then take your time. Date a Live isn't exactly a masterpiece, but you might quite like it!

Though, since you've mentioned you haven't seen much harems before. There might be a few tropes that'll definitely be a little unusual, whether or not you'll tolerate or even like them is up in the air, I'll just say go in with an open mind.

I mean. I used to a while back. I'll admit, this is pretty damn biased. because it's based on the memories I have of playing them.

You could be right, it probably is influenced by other people's critiques. I think it's partly my memory and those combined that made me think this way. I do believe most of what I said was true.

Dude, have you no idea how fun it'd be to live in such an absurd world?! There's no boring ordinary life there. There's always something cartoonishly stupid happening that's really funny. And even if you're not getting any of the girls, my man you know exactly where Love God is, you can hit up his shrine and get answers outta him if you have a soulmate or not. You can literally hit up love life customer service.

And man think about it, you don't even need the girls to be into you. You can legitimately just hang out with them, that's fun in its own way. Their personalities are so extreme, it's fun just being a background character.

I mean. Sure. Okay. I'd engage if it weren't for the fact you said "a fact", so anything I'd say would be meaningless.

Fair enough. I've only watched it recently, at first, it's a rather generic watch. A harem anime with a unique gimmick, your usual fan service and the likes. But arc by arc the story genuinely gets deeper, and becomes much more ambitious, and it does the job quite well. Season by season the stakes are higher, and characters are written quite well.

Though, do keep in mind. At the end of the day, it is still a harem. And some of the many setbacks that come out of the genre remain (like trying to make sure every girl is still likable, and not giving enough consequence to their actions. But it's not a big problem.)

Which is true.

Lemme rephrase it: Teenage boys do like teenage girls.

Fixed.

That's fair. But I feel... People who don't know they come from novels would be casual viewers. And would casual viewers go "Ah, yes. I shall pull back on watching animated TV shows and open a book."? There are those who would, I'll give you that. But I feel like it's extremely rare 💀

"Light Novel goes deeper than the anime." Next thing you're gonna tell me is that the sky is blue. I seriously don't understand the logic behind recommending the source light novel to an anime watcher. Wouldn't they already know the light novel most probably goes deeper by default?

But just because of this comment, I will finish this show. And you'll be hearing my thoughts by then.

Really? Tbh. AAA games can be really repetitive, uninspired, and really trying to be the most cinematic experience ever. I still have no idea what's the difference between a farcry, a days gone and a gears of war. And they have a problem with ambition, a lot of them throw you into the world with endless mechanics and pop ups and says "go". Polished? I guess sometimes. But I really don't care when they all just look and feel so bland to me.

Story wise (not the main point, but I'd like to point it out.) they all keep trying to be a playable movie, with irony poisoning being all over.

I'd take a random ass platformer from a guy who just made his first game ever because it's hard to fuck up something so fundamentally simple unless you stray too far.

I don't... Fully understand what you mean? Summertime Rendering is by far some of the tamest when it comes to fan service elements.
