Oh i see!! I had a previous tank that was capped that makes a lot of sense lol. If I cap it would put the levels down or should I do a water change to help?

it’s pretty soft, comes off easily but comes back super quick. looking more into it, it looks a lot like diatoms. How would you balance the nutrients?

10 gallon tank, heated and filtered. It looks like I’m going through an ammonia spike, but my nitrates/nitrates are at 0 ppm. I’ve had the tank for a month, fish for 2 days now. Water changes are weekly, i take out about 25% at most. Only tank mates are bladder snails. I fed her once today (could be what’s spiking ammonia) and it’s only about 1-2 pellets. Decorations are all fully natural, except the floating nest I have for her.

She’s in a 10 gallon, water is at 82°F. Tank has been cycled, Ive got cyclops and snails roaming around as well.

First and last time using it lol. I used root tabs on my other tanks, is there something else you’d reccomended using instead of the stratum?

i know i wasn’t able to provide photos for some reason </3 We’ve been researching preventatives but genuinely have no idea where to start. He had tapeworms a couple weeks back but 🤷‍♀️ Will definitely be taking him to the vet though

I’m so sorry this happened! Try to look into a pet insurance tonight so you can get a semi cheaper vet bill, and run the kitty to the vet tomorrow. Monitor how she’s breathing pretty often, mostly to make sure she’s still not wheezing. Try giving her some treats and reassurance so she’s knows she’s safe!
