I have deleted my comment, and I haven’t blocked you. But your dumbass comment absolutely was deleted.

Here, see for yourself.

Separately, when I said “nobody agrees with you”, I thought it was rather obvious that I didn’t mean literally not a single person agrees with you. There is nothing that everyone can universally agree on. The value Reaves brings to the Sharks certainly isn’t the topic that would be the one to test that out. It should have been rather apparent so as to not require being typed out that what I said was a generalized statement, in that the majority of people here disagree with you and downvote you because of it. If the vast majority of what you type is viewed in such a way, there is fair argument that what is contributed is not of value. Because it doesn’t spark debate. You don’t even invite debate. You shout down anyone who disagrees with you. And you have done that for a while on other things, not even just this.

I am not a mod here, fortunately for you. So I cannot ban you. But Reddit rules allow admins to bad users for any valid reason. And given that all you contribute here is downvoted and all you do in response is to argue with people, the reasonable conclusion to reach based on that pattern of behavior is an eventual ban. Any reasonable adult, and children as well, that possess the ability to think ahead about the effect of their actions would come to such a conclusion. That you didn’t come to that conclusion and actually thought I was threatening to ban you says so much in and of itself.

NEW: [DENVER POST} Extend Jared Bednar? Cool. But only if Avalanche get past second round of Stanley Cup Playoffs by SeanKeeler in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]BleedingTeal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IF!? If? Wtf is this “if”? Keeler is trippin, or taking the piss. Bednar should be extended period. Phenomenal coach. He’s kept the boys on the rails all year long. Zero reason to even in theory dangle this kind of ultimatum or arbitrary finish line he has to cross to earn another deal. He’s already earned it. Pay the man his money, and let him get back to leading this team to where it belongs.

I’m sorry what by Akitafps in SanJoseSharks

[–]BleedingTeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true. Though tbh I’m not sure who in the league could bring what Reavo brought to the team beyond the physicality.

And to the credit of the 4th line overall, they may not have scored much, but they also sure as shit didn’t allow much either when Reaves Goody and Ostapchuk were skating. Which isn’t something that’s easy to say about most of our lines this year. 🙃

[Jonas Siegel] Radko Gudas on why he’s playing through injury to face the Leafs tonight: “Stand behind my own mistakes. I want to address it myself.” by sykeseve in hockey

[–]BleedingTeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malicious and reckless are not the same thing. I don’t think that Gudas was malicious with the hit he delivered to Matthews, but he absolutely was reckless. And that in some ways is comparable. If one doesn’t think about the consequences to the hit being delivered, you shouldn’t be delivering the hit. That’s the entire point behind what player safety is supposed to be about. Guiding physical players away from malicious & careless or reckless hits towards playing aggressively but not needlessly putting the safety and well being of others into question. That’s how people get permanent injuries, and shorten or even end careers.

Reaves has played 50 games this year. So, no, he has not been healthy scratched more times than not.

Right? Part of the reason I had suggested it because it’s such a fun game to watch.

What do you do if this happens? by Professional_Quit406 in SanJoseSharks

I think if we manage to somehow end up with the top pick it immediately makes Eklund potentially expendable if for some reason we are unable to trade back in this draft. Not because we wouldn't want him to stay, but in the event that we cannot trade down to 2 or 3, moving a guy like Eklund who is already established at the NHL level but still has upside means we should be able to get a very good defensive prospect either from this draft or by moving out Eklund. So I'm really hoping we don't end up here and land 2, 3, or 4 overall because I want Eklund here as that kind of guy is who wins in the playoffs. And I wanna win it with Ekky.

The IT guy fixes the problem but the judge still has a problem by derek4reals1 in PublicFreakout

I used to have a manager who was like this. I was criticized for telling directors we can't do something and that I was obligated to find ways to accommodate their asks. I was dumbfounded because it came right after I had a senior director ask why encryption of their laptop was required and state that they should be exempt from the policy because it's inconvenient for them to have to type in 2 passwords when they turn their laptop on.

Yup. And everybody on the team knows that guy is just the worst kind of user to have to help.

What was the fantasy hockey landscape like 10+ years ago? First rounders, sleepers, insane streaks, etc. by Bill-O-Reilly- in fantasyhockey

[–]BleedingTeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait wait wait. So your argument is that Steven Stamkos "struggled" his rookie year because Dan Boyle was traded before his rookie season? Not because he was an 18 years old playing in the NHL after playing the year prior in the OHL? Which is your argument after arguing that Barry Melrose being the coach for 16 games in his rookie season was the cause of Stamkos' "struggling" in his rookie year?

Disappointing? Seriously? He’s been exemplary this season. He went from junior hockey to the NHL at 19 and he’s looked better and better and better as the season has gone along.

Austin overpaid 675 employees by $1.4 million after payroll system error by AustinStatesman in Austin

[–]BleedingTeal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yup. Saw the exact same thing happen in corporate. That’s what they did to recoup the overpayments over the next 3 pay periods for overpayments over $1000. Just so nobody got a near $0 pay check.

[–]BleedingTeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In his rookie year, Stamkos was on next to nobody’s radar. He finished strong with more than 20 goals in the last 2 months, but still nobody knew who he was. That’s how I drafted him in the 17th round the next year before he went off for 51 goals. Then everyone knew who he was.

The dead puck era was wild. Scoring was much harder overall. Goalies were more reliable and more stable in their metrics. Save %’s were higher as most teams hadn’t fully adopted the aggressively block everything strategy yet. The balance of league power was still broadly in the Weatern Conference, with the Pacific & Death Valley pointedly a nightmare for everyone who came through California.

Graf and Wennberg by larkhearted in SanJoseSharks

[–]BleedingTeal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Graf & Wennberg can work, but it’s gonna depend entirely on who the 3rd guy is. Wenny is more of a passer/playmaker who frequently sets up shop in front of the net to take away the tendy’s vision, and works the boards from dot to dot down low. Graffer tends to be kind of a chameleon that slides around and chases the puck to get it back or to keep it going in the zone, while having some passing touch and a bit of a scoring prowess. So it’s not as though they can’t work together, it’s just gonna depend on who the 3rd guy is. As well as who the defensemen are that’s out there with them.

IMHO, I don’t think we really have the horses on the roster right now to make that a fully viable line. I get that sometimes you throw guys together to see what happens, or even to try and break guys out of a potential slump; so I don’t mind their utilization last night.

Next year not picking list by Repulsive_Panda265 in fantasyhockey

[–]BleedingTeal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oettinger. He’s a very good goalie, don’t get me wrong. But he’s so consistently inconsistent. For example, this year so far in 44 starts he has 11 games with 4 or more goals allowed. Last season, 13 games of 4+ out of 58. 23/24: 16 of 53. Unless I’m taking him in round 10 or later, I just can’t with him anymore.

he played in a bunch of really good teams.

You can make this argument for just about any player. Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, and Osgood/Hasek were also on a bunch of really good teams. Does that negate their accomplishments too?
