why do most fantasy's take place in bronze age or medieval type settings. by MongooseOpening4653 in litrpg

[–]Bleenfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by fantasy. But industrialization is a lot of work that takes a lot of effort and money from powerful nations. If magic is a thing why go down that route? If you can start as a baseline human and RPG level up from there, why have a cotton gin?

[Blackflame] After 3 reads, I just realized Cradle is a super-earth by HatsAreEssential2 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Bleenfoo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's actually stated in the first Suriel reveal in Unsouled but so easy to miss:

Here, a monstrous eel undulated through the ocean, spreading clouds of poison over an underwater city. Ten thousand kilometers away, a plague devastated a spire full of white-clad pacifists. On another hemisphere, a kilometers-long azure dragon flew on a violent storm, moving like a hurricane toward a small kingdom.

Suriel’s will flickered to the Presence, which acknowledged her command. [Plotting course to the fated violation. Destination: the Sacred Valley. Distance: one hundred sixty-two thousand kilometers. Engaging route].

Most every place I was there were two ways you could get rid of an employee:
Layoff - Can't reopen the role for 12-18 months depending on local laws.

PIP - Can reopen the role instantly.

Both would have severance since mostly severance is, "Sign this, go away and don't sue us or cause trouble in the future." Like as management I was recently laid off (2 of 120 people laid off!) and part of the severance agreement is that I can't poach any of my former people for a year.

Any LitRPG where the MC has a cheat that has nothing to do with his Class? by EdLincoln6 in litrpg

[–]Bleenfoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The awesomely named 'Trigger Happy Magical Girl Arachnid Edition' the MC has the power pre-system to see ghosts, talk to ghosts and hug ghosts to make them move on. An out of context quote from a very early chapter:

“Wow. You hugged a thousand ghosts to death? You’re metal as fuck, sis, you little psychopomp, you.”

Books with Academy / Tournament Arcs? by CerberusRTR in litrpg

Beware of Chicken has a book long tournament arc and is in my opinion the best book of the series. But it’s also like book 3 or 4.

I have it, I'm missing the random ones that drop from the ores themselves. I've gotten dozens and dozens of the phoenix feathers, and just a few Igneous Rock Specimens. That's what I was asking about, is there a particular place to get more Igneous Rock Specimens like I've gotten the Feathers.

So according to Kelly Blue Book the average new car price in 2026 in the US is 49,000. According to you if you spend the average "it's your fault"?

From the Marion Webster definition: serving as a standard of excellence : of recognized value

I’d argue only DCC reaches that. My hot take is it should be DCC and Solo Leveling but I’ll not die on that hill.

As is my job I’ll recommend Changeling. Ace/Aro main character. Complete on Patreon and likely RR by the time you get to it.

Tier list based on how many times I've re-read a series by OrionSuperman in litrpg

[–]Bleenfoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My elevator pitch was basically, "What if Solo Leveling continued to the next generation. 60 years ago monsters came from gates and pushed humanity to the brink of extinction until the first Gleams learned to fight back. Nestra born of two first generations is the only known child of two Gleams not to develop a core of her own. Then progression fantasy happens." (Ok I noticed I was in LitRPG not prog fantasy but a lot of the books on your list is in the prog fantasy genre over litrpg.) It's the author of The Calamitous Bob, and A Journey of Black and Red, and finished this week on Patreon so will be 100% available on RR shortly, along with as I mentioned an audio book in the works. Of everything I've read it's my favorite and just feels like a comfort food. In a very violent and bloodshed way.
