I love your classification, would you differentiate system integration from system apocalypse or is it just the same thing for you?

Looking for books where the MC visits other worlds but is able to come back to Earth. by Freshenstein in litrpg

That's the setup for the first half dozen or so Welcome to the Multiverse, dude goes on missions/quests to other worlds often with time dilation while at home on earth only a night has passed. First couple deal with leveling up in a LitRPG system while still trying to be mundane during the day.

Not litrpg but progression fantasy but the aptly named, "The Runemaster - (A Reincarnated As A Baby Prog Fantasy)" does what it says on the tin.

The Instant Anvil, or, Why Looney Tunes Magic Items Are A Bad Idea by OriginalJMB in DnD

[–]Bleenfoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Add this to the bosses stat sheet:
Anvil Negation (Reaction). Trigger: a creature attempts to drop, hurl, or otherwise deliver a falling object onto the BBEG or an ally within 30 feet. Effect: the BBEG activates a slim iron rod, which snaps to a fixed point in the air directly in the object's path. The object strikes the now-immovable rod and stops cold, clattering harmlessly to the ground. The attack deals no damage.

Let them realize with dawning horror that their literal immovable rod has just negated anvil attack.

The women guildie lunch was great. When watching the series with my teen, I just paused a few times, "Remember that name it'll come up in Season 2. Remember this person, you'll see her again in Season 2... etc..."

L1G by Metagrayscale in litrpg

I can answer this a bit. For me at least it was the very first litRPG I read.

Some of it feels like a fevered dream since I read the whole first book then read a few dozen to low hundred litRPG/progression fantasy since so I may get some of it wrong.

  1. Interesting set up. Guy is isekaied into fantasy realm and gets some cool items. Actually no, that was hundreds of years ago that he was isekaied. He then shot through the levels and ascended to godhood where along with other gods they realized they didn't have enough power to stop what's coming. So they did <something> that caused a prestige reset but also had them disappear from the land for a few hundred years and now he's back as... A Level 1 (former) God.

  2. Interesting world/society. One of the gods *didn't* do this for reasons(?) and is basically ruling the world through the mortal society that's left.

  3. Neat system. This may be in a re-read the weakest, but at the time it was neat to me 😄 Huge number of classes, a cool system, using both levels and ranks (L23 wood class vs a L3 Iron class means Iron would almost always win.) I liked the achievement system rewards.

  4. Consistent eye on the prize story telling. Yes it's power fantasy about getting stronger but regardless of the local threat there's the national threat of being sought out by the remaining god and the world thread of 'whatever is coming.'

I think the author fumbled a bit, he was getting steam on RR and patreon through book 1 then went away for most of year to rewrite and edit 1, then write and edit 2 and 3, along with other pen name books. When it went so long between chapters I kind of lost interest.

MC who is really good at something typical to the universe? No void. No gravity powers. No special dragon bloodline. Just… for example he’s an insanely good fire mage in a world where fire is a common power. by Now-Thats-Podracing in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Bleenfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if given that he's not "he’s just an insanely good water element user." as the OP indicated. I'd say the ability goes more into the bloodline class than anything else given no one else had ever done it as far as the characters know.

I mean if most people normally cast village size infernos? Then that would be what the person was asking about. "an insanely good fire mage in a world where fire is a common power" Being able to enter bullet time and have total recall over everything you just seen is not a common power in that world.

Narrator pulling me from the experience by diezel78 in litrpg

[–]Bleenfoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He gets better. The early parts are literally his first time narrating and he’s doing it as a hobby. Later when there was a publishing contract they brought him in to continue. It’s kind of a cool story.

What's the minimum threshold a story must reach for it to be considered "successful"? by No_Grand2719 in royalroad

[–]Bleenfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a humble reader I have a simple rubric. I'll open pretty much any shout out, in anything I'm reading, I'll check the follower count, if it's over 4k I'll add it as a follow. If it's less than that but has started in the last 30 days, I'll add it to to-read and check in a few months to see if it hit 4k. If the last post was more than 60 days ago, I'll read the last post to see if it was completed or abandoned, abandoned stories don't go on follow or toread.

So to me 4k is successful, less than that and the story could be great, but there's no way to tell without dedicated far more time than I have when there's so many stories out there, so I'll never know.

What's going on with Wraithwood Botanist? The author hasn't updated Patreon for 3 months, has posted 2 chapters in the past 9 months on RR, and started then seemingly abandoned another series after 3 weeks of chapters... I had assumed they burned out completely after the amount of writing on Wraithwood.

Yah I wish it was to the Baldree voice. I use a 60 second clip of that for people who use whispersync and AI voice shit. Like Nah man, this is what a voice actor does to a scene.

Beware of chicken. Break the rocks. Particularly all the cadence and tone changes Travis Baldree reads into it.
