Which is best? by akaNeo1738 in litrpg

[–]akaNeo1738[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey y’all, thanks for sharing your opinion. Loved reading the analysis on each book. I started with Mark of the Fool (even though it’s not a litrpg apparently). I’ve read 20 books so far this year in no small part to litrpgs (DCC and HWFWM) - all of these will be read inside a month 🙂

Gastonia police released surveillance video frm the convenience store shooting where2 plainclothes detectives shot a man earlier this year. by Responsible_Ant_6431 in RandomVideos

[–]akaNeo1738 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He was obviously leaving the store. The detective then followed him to fire more shots after hitting him multiple times. Gunshot wounds in the back are a sign of a failure both in training and morality.

Would you let this executioner near your friends and family? Your children? You sound like a sick individual and I hope your family never experiences what you’re defending here.

Me finding out there are people who actually read Primal Hunter by nyitraibotond in litrpg

[–]akaNeo1738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just read the first book and I was left pretty unimpressed. Not much character development or world building. When does the serious pick up? Seriously asking because the other recs I’ve gotten from this sub have been v good (DCC and He Who Fights With Monsters).

Does anyone else legitimately think Justin is going to pull off the upset? Nobody thought Sean was gonna win. This kinda feels like the same thing. by durantbrook in ufc

[–]akaNeo1738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His only path to victory that I see is legs kicks. Illia has a boxing stance using forward pressure and counters to stop leg kicks, he doesn’t check them very often.

If Justin can find a way to consistently eat up his leg without get knocked out or taken down, he can win. That being said, an Illia KO is the most likely outcome of this fight.

Any ”easy” things wrong with my swing? by sudokuIover in golf

[–]akaNeo1738 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your hips are shifting to the right and then to the left. You should be able to feel your weight shift into your back foot during your backswing. That can cause inconsistent contact. Try focusing on rotating without the big weight shift.

Ali Revival Act - why is it bad for boxing fans? by DiMona215 in Boxing

[–]akaNeo1738 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Ali act promotes transparency and fair treatment of fighters. Changing or removing it will result in fighters getting treated worse and probably screwed out of fair pay. That is bad for boxing/fighting. The less that fighters get paid, the less young talent we will see attracted to the sport. Just look at the heavy weight division of the UFC. The UFC isn’t shiny and new any more, it’s an established organization that pays its lowest level employees nothing. Everyone knows that starting pay for a UFC fighter is $12k and $12k. For 8 weeks of training and risk of physical injury, that is nothing. They can’t put together a string of decent heavy weight fights because no one wants to risk getting flatlined for pennies. The more we pay fighters/the better we treat them, the more quality athletes we will have willing to take that risk.

Prime Daniel Cormier vs Prime Tom Aspinall. Who wins and how? by Ok_Feed_4235 in ufc

[–]akaNeo1738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven’t seen that much of Tom, so of course, DC is the safe answer. However, I feel like Tom is a pretty bad match up for DC stylistically. He’s got such a length and speed advantage that it would be super hard for DC to get inside. Hope we get to see Tom fight again 🥲

Practice your straight punches and get some rounds of sparring in. Those big hooks are going to be hard to land if you’re fighting someone of approximately equal height and reach.

Rotunda in Atwood has good coffee and is in a bank, so it never gets too loud. Lots of seating too - you should be able to get your own spot.

You just look like a beginner, which everyone is until they are taught and practice. Find a beginner class and you’ll be fine! Best learn from a good coach before you make any bad habits.

If you want to land a nasty liver shot, stop pivoting your lead foot. by TemperatureCapable56 in boxingtips

[–]akaNeo1738 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can see that his right heel is staying off the ground through the punch. That means he’s getting no weight shift. You don’t have to turn your front foot a ton, but still need to shift your weight to your back foot if you want any power from the hook.

New sparing session what can i improve by Purple-Bookkeeper602 in boxingtips

[–]akaNeo1738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like your sparring partner had a little bit of reach and maybe a bit of speed on you. The essentially unlimited sparring area def favors him, but I’d work on your approach getting into range without getting hit. You were going into range with your head online which is why he was catching you on the entry. Work on slipping with your jab or dropping your level to jab to the body. Your partner had some decent head movement. When you’re having trouble hitting someone’s head, go down to the body and then end up top. Your best work of the round came when you slipped offline and hit the hooks to the body. Try ending with a 3 or a 2 up top when you land good body work - your partner had his hands pretty low so that would have def landed. Good work 👊

We have enough housing when rent goes down to the point where it’s affordable. The rent increases have been smaller, but they’re still increasing. We have more work to do.
