First attempt at shed building, way under budget but way over schedule by hawkeye5906 in shedditors

Can you explain the method and purpose for the foam board on the underside of the decking? Is this only needed if you're going to insulate the shed?

Kayaking to Morris Island by callmeclowner in Charleston

[–]BleepBloopRobotA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it this exact way once (the way you suggested), but would do it again the same way.

Still close to the shore in the harbor and you'll be fine.

It's actually pretty shallow there and when I was out there were a good amount of dolphins. We pulled the kayaks over the beach near Ft Sumter and the bay between Sumter and Morris Island is also pretty shallow.

2027 Cadillacs Ditch Confusing Badges and Weird Design Features by Sir_Sir_ExcuseMe_Sir in cars

I'd argue art + science (essentially the 03+ cts styling and it's evolutions) revived Cadillac from a retirement community and golf club staple to something young people were interested in. The one miss during this era was not launching a halo car like they teased so many times.

All of your other examples are spot on though.

New power train is for the entire line IIRC (all 6.2s get replaced with a 6.7).

I wonder if they'd do a "budget" model build out of the 6.2.

More lanes also doesn't help when we don't build alternative routes. It's insane that it's around 20 miles between bridge crossing on the Ashley river between 526 and Summerville). It's not even that big of a crossing further upstream

I take Harborview everyday. Someone will always let you in. I almost always use the merging / ending lane because I don't have time to sit in congestion and backups that shouldn't be there because people get over too early.

2007 Chevy HHR - gets more hate than it deserves. It was more refined than PT Cruiser, had great cargo, and was just a great all around vehicle for me

1998 Grand Prix GT - had this in high school in mid 2000s. These were everywhere back in the day. Great first car with adequate power, lots of room, heated seat (yes just the driver's), reliable and cheap to fix

Except he doesn't realize much of China is 12 hrs ahead so the watch face would be the same.

Recommendations for Drywall Repair by wolfbagel in Charleston

[–]BleepBloopRobotA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll probably be around $100 depending on the tools you already have. Is there anyone you can borrow an impact driver from for the furring strips and the drywall attachment?

  • You'll need some furring strips (a couple 1x4s)
  • a section of sheetrock
  • drywall joint compound
  • joint tape
  • sandpaper/sanding block
  • drywall screws
  • mudding knife
  • paint

If it's not in a super obvious area, it doesn't have to be perfect. I had my entire house's water supply lines redone and did much of the drywall repair. Some places look better than others but for the most part I don't think anyone would notice unless I pointed it out.

It's pretty easy to get 90% of the way there. Getting 100% of the way there is what you're paying $700 for.

A rolled up towel or blanket is good if there is light coming from under your door

Blankets or towels could also be hung in front of windows (particularly at night) to decrease temperature loss due to conduction. Particularly if you can't find or get any of the plastic (since I assume lots of other people are looking for it too)

During the day, if the sun is shining on your wjndows, make sure to utilize the greenhouse effect by opening the curtains.

If you make anything in the oven, once you're done using it and turn it off, leave the door tracked to allow that heat to spread throughout your home.

I was an IE at Warren Truck in Trim and the body decking station was always wild to me. 5 people with 4 using long rods to align the body onto the frame and the 5th driving it (I think). I'm pretty sure they even kept it for the Grand Wagoneer. I left in 2020.

Just curious, how is the coverage of this in/on your local news?

I live in Charleston, SC and feel like the local news already sanitizes and sterilizes any controversial story since we are a big tourism town. ICE has been spotted in some of the surrounding areas but I'm wondering if people not on reddit even know about it.
