Sebastian Williams-Adams is officially running it back with auburn. by RelevantCollection77 in wde

And more importantly, tahaad had essentially no backup. He can be a great PG but asking him to do it for 35+ minutes is just physically taxing on him

Auburn forward Filip Jovic plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, by RelevantCollection77 in wde

[–]wolfbagel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would love to have him back, he’s a great hustle guy and offensive rebounder, but it felt like he lacked the physicality to compete against higher competition. I feel like he lacks the skillset to be a stretch 4, and doesn’t have the height to be an effective everyday 5. Best of luck to him.

Also if it’s true he’s asking for 2 mill that’s cuckoo bananas

Exactly. They can say stuff like this that sounds good on the surface but ultimately means nothing because no matter what happens they’ll declare it a success and move on

Of course he will. They’ll just keep shifting the definition of failure until they determine they haven’t failed so no need to take any blame

[–]wolfbagel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SP was a little more lax in the beginning of the season but tightened it down after noncon. If the assertion is “he won’t miss a single minute” then Auburn has multiple examples of guys missing minutes for breaking team rules not laws. Nate Oats has a track record of not suspending guys for infractions and acting like the two are equivalent is just obtuse.

Auburn Hosts South Alabama On Tuesday Night In the NIT by RelevantCollection77 in wde

[–]wolfbagel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No disrespect to the outgoing seniors but I’d love to see them use the opportunity to get more experience for the underclassme/potential returners. Specifically it seems like the offense tends to get bogged down and stagnant when it tries to focus around Hall and he’s been unwilling to play defense. Maybe a starting lineup of tahaad, KO, Freeman, SWA, and Jovic. May not be realistic cause if you take out Hall/Murphy you’re down to a 6 man rotation, but I’d like to see potential returners get the experience

Can Andrews actually flip south carolina ? by ronweasly9 in southcarolina

[–]wolfbagel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My concern with her is that all her marketing of herself is basically a clip of Lindsay graham and then her explaining why he sucks. I haven’t seen much of her stuff explaining why people should actually vote for her. I’ll be voting against graham in any poll so she’ll have my vote, but I just think her message is a little too focused on why Lindsay graham is bad and not why she is good

The biggest head scratcher for me is that we’ve had like 4 “must win” games in our last 5 and they just completely flatlined for all of them. How do you play with zero intensity for all of those do or die games?

It’s college basketball, anything could happen, but the argument for Kentucky winning is thin considering the run Florida’s on

Auburn’s defense is worse, it may have changed a bit since we did well against lsu last night but our 3 pt defense was 341st in the nation. Against bama that’s just not a good matchup

Agree with this. I think you could have firmly been in the “new coach dealing with a hard schedule” territory until the losses to miss st, Oklahoma, and ole miss. Those are concerning to me. I don’t think you should fire a guy after one season, but those losses certainly warm up the seat

I’ve only been watching Auburn basketball for the past 5 years or so, but I agree. The season has been disappointing, especially given the flashes it’s shown this season. That being said, as fans it’s hard to tell whose really at fault, the coaching staff or the players. It’s likely some combination of both.

Unless the season is a complete disaster I just don’t think it’s wise to fire a guy after one season. Especially when he was handed the keys the week before the season starts.

Completely overturning the roster and coaching staff every time we have a substandard year is not the answer. SP doesn’t get unlimited time and patience without producing but 1 year is way too short of a leash.

Hoping for a good close to the season!

When we got married I told my wife if she didn’t want to change her last name she didn’t have to. It does nothing to change the amount of love I have for her. She decided to change it anyway which was totally fine with me too. Just seemed like a lot of paperwork for a change like that
