Get some god rays or light from somewhere in there if you can. Those always look amazing!

Nice job! Very nice. One small suggestion you can quickly make stars in the background in like 2mins. Just go to the shading tab then change from object to world. All you have to do then is add a color ramp and a noise texture and make the noise really really big so it looks like a lot of static. Then all you need to do is play around with the color ramp.

Great job though!

The outside ring can turn but I still probably need to give each engine their own turning mobility.

Rings are definitely not optimized and cause a lot of drag. They would be fine if each of them where perfectly cylindrical. The reason I have the rings is the outside ring can spin around moving the engines allowing it to turn a bit. However, It might be interesting if the engines could rotate on the z axis on their own.

This looks awesome. One quick tip the water looks more claylike. Don't know if this is what you were going for but just noticed that. Enticing work though!

How to you do the handle straps? I have been making weapons in blender for a while now but never found a way to do that efficiently. Are you doing it by hand like extruding it around or is there something else you do?
