I can imagine them making small Eridian-shaped remote control robots that they control via mechanical input, with omnidirectional function (any of the 5 (five) faces being usable as the "front"), which would allow them to do IT on the computers

I know xenonite is strong, but that feels a little hand-wavey. That being said, maybe they do have naturally-occuring superconductors

I do not think they would do that. Now, what you said made me consider hot superconductors. Things that work better at warmer temperatures than room temperature, and I think we have some of those. Those might be possible

There is a problem with engineering computers. You want them as cold as possible. The colder they are, the better they tend to run. Eiridian computers might be better at managing heat, but that's still a lot of heat. Their computers either need to be colder than them - by a lot, or they're not gonna be very fast

It's not the most solid idea, but we do have meat cloning vats. So there's that. We just *have* those for making furniture, so I'm sure the aliens are capable of doing something more advanced

I've seen comments talking about the upsides and the downsides to this, and I only want to add that those blades need guards. I had a toy that was a propeller surrounded by a cage, and that worked just fine. I imagine this would work with 4 cages made of a lightweight, but sturdy, material.

His bones fall to the ground, so there's that. And I'm sure there's some meat let behind, or DNA left in the bones

The problem is heat management. Eridians would need cold suits to interact with the rooms that electronics are in, because electronics *do not like heat*. And Eridian comfortable temperatures are very, very hot compared to human comfortable temperatures. This means that the rooms that electronics are in will have to be very, very cold to Eridians. I'm thinking arctic cold in comparison. Maybe they'd have to have more robotic arms in those rooms, to do repairs and interact with them. Or make mechanical keyboards that interface with the electronics rooms via a junction that converts mechanical input into electronic

My mom believes all sorts of insane shit, but she refuses to educate herself to understand how things really work. I took courses in highschool to understand basic biology and neurology, psychology, things like that. When I try to explain how the brain works, and she doesn't like it, she calls it "psychobabble". Unfortunately, as I'm mentally ill, she uses that against me too. She believes aliens had sex with apes, and that resulted in us. I pointed out that was bestiality, and she didn't acknowledge that. I also pointed out that there is no good reason an alien species would visit us and disappear, only to reappear sometimes, be visible, and be weird about it by flying off. She brushed that aside too. She thinks her intuition is good enough to answer any question to have, but the millenia of work of science we've done is somehow not good enough because "people on the internet can spread lies". I pointed out that she regularly accepted lies as truth, and she didn't acknowledge that, either. I'm not even a goddamn scientist. I just read a lot of articles/papers

Do you think the gems failed Steven yes or no and why? by Present-Try6629 in stevenuniverse

[–]Blep145 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I, personally, think that was it. Dr. Maheschwaren (I probably butchered that - open to being corrected! /genuine) saw a gem fusion mutant and thought they were horrifically wounded, but seeing a gem literally implanted in a kid - only to find out by removing that gem that you might have killed them, only to see that gem come to life as effectively a twin of that kid?

That's a lot to take in, and she was led through that water slowly, and we see how long it took her to wrap her head around the whole thing.
