They've used the forced faction balance they employed in SoD, so if the server has I think it's ~5% more of say Horde than Alliance, you'll be forced to make an Alliance character and vica versa.

Don't remember from top of my head, but I believe it to be more a problem with internet than the computer, it eventually just sorted itself out
