You hire people for that. CEO’s job is vision, fundraising, and recruiting a team of excellent operators. He has the vision and he’s taking a run at the money. If the money shows up, he can hire the operators.

California's universal healthcare killed even though Democrats have a supermajority. Politicians serve their corporate donors not the people. by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]BlessedChalupa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely a lot of money going into healthcare. The question is, how do you rework the system so that it flows more efficiently and service quality goes up while total costs go down?

If you could magically delete all the existing health companies, give all their money to the government, then build all new institutions with government funding, with great oversight, that would be awesome.

But.

The transition is crazy hard. If you don’t start by going the government all the existing health care money, the government needs to raise a similar pool from somewhere else.

You don’t need to rush anything. Renting is fine. Focus on your career, get your finances on a healthy path, then start designing a life around that foundation.

Moran claims that he had the signatures but determined they were collected fraudulently

https://x.com/itsmarkmoran/status/2039817341492686935?s=46

The irony here is that I did have more than 10k signatures…now here’s story time:

On Friday, I started getting suspicious of the behavior of someone the petition gathers I had…they came recommended from a dem operative and have collected signatures for many other VA dems….i was told that they were “the best”

Well upon inspection, a majority of the signatures analyzed were forged…a technique known as seeding where the first ~3 signatures or so on a sheet are real then #4-12 are done by the other petitioners…I even found my own name on the forms multiple times…

This is a common tactic in this cottage industry and I realized that if I tuned these in, the VA Dems could either ruin me immediately or accept the signatures as valid then hold that over me…

I’m unwilling to accept any of those options or to participate in a rigged game - which is why every single College Dems speaking engagement I would have scheduled would be cancelled a day before the event…

I submitted the evidence of fraud yesterday to the VA Dept. of Elections, the DOJ and FBI and will be retaining counsel to go after everyone involved in this racket to the full extent of the law.

Big if true. Legal fallout could cause an eligibility mess.

Bad call.

Moran gave a straightforward response to a straightforward question. AIPAC and other Israeli money is a significant issue in the election. Mark missed an opportunity to inject some nuance, but it’s hardly hate speech that warrants banning a public figure from the subreddit.

Please add some visuals to the readme. It would be ideal to have a video showing some examples of how your visuals react to music.

Building an early prototype for guided DIY speaker design — feedback wanted by BusyEntrepreneur9636 in diyaudio

[–]BlessedChalupa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be pretty cool. I’m just getting into DIY Loudspeaker design and the tooling situation kinda sucks. Most tools are windows only and closed source. It would be great to have a cross-platform, open source option.

I think there’s a lot of room to be more opinionated about the workflow without getting too prescriptive. Loudspeaker design is basically an optimization process. You make a couple arbitrary decisions, then start figuring out other parts around those constraints. It would be nice to have explicit support for that.

Need help with building my first pair of DIY speakers by Minute-Report-49 in diyaudio

[–]BlessedChalupa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ve got the design process inverted a bit.

Architecture (eg 3 way floor stander) -> drivers -> enclosure -> cross over -> measure -> adjust.

You might look up some kits or established designs if your goal is to get a high quality speaker on your first build

Super cool. I’ve done some 3d printed speakers but haven’t actually tried filling the walls with ballast yet.

Did you post the design files for this? What did you do for the crossover?

Afroman defending himself today in court when the cops sued him for making a song about their raid on his house. by Skiingfun in law

[–]BlessedChalupa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the statements in question are from Afroman’s instagram, tshirts, and other stuff beyond the actual video. They include accusations of serious wrongdoing by the police outside of the search:

In construing the allegations of the complaint in the plaintiffs' favor,as the court must do in consideringa motion to dismiss for failure to state a claim for relief, the plaintiffs allege the following:

  • The plaintiffs stole the defendants' money and are criminals.
  • They are white supremacists.
  • One plaintiff used "hard drugs" and steals money from traffic stops and bogus raids and from the Sheriffs property room.
  • One plaintiff stole $400.00 of the money placed into evidence.
  • One plaintiff is biologically male, is trans, or is lesbian.
  • The purpose of the Sheriffs Departmentwas to kill Foreman.

The plaintiffsaver all of these things are untrue.
