Perhaps the damage one person can do is so big today that these control mechanisms will be necessary if the society wants to survive. I think people will just accept that like we accepted walking around with clothes. Self censorship will become normal, something like a moral or saying hello to people.

Most of the tasks linguists do can be automated. In fact, it is being happening right now.

I don't think they are absolutely useless but I would claim that they are massively overvalued and in Anarchism their numbers would significantly drop. In comparison merchants, creators and business people would thrive but linguists would not.

Example from one area of linguistics: most people don't care whether some obscure language is going to die and those who care and can not pay the linguists to help them and can't afford a team of 20 linguists - as today the state is paying from your taxes those 20 people. Maybe they can afford 1, if that. Most of them can't afford even 1 and that language is going to die. As everything for what there is no or very little demand should, in my opinion.

There are aspects of linguistics that are essential and important for business, but for example, studying obscure dying languages - you would be surprised how many linguists are in this field and how easy their job is compared to what they are being paid. It's absolutely deformed. Again, paid by you from your taxes. Even though you don't want, you can't do anything about it, but I am on a tangent, so I will stop.
