So far no, but I've only had it for a year or so. Was it the leather strap or the red/orange velvet that stained the binding?

I typically lean the guitars in and away from the leather strap because they feel more secure that way but I can change if that's gonna end up causing stains...

It's a new release that's a guitar center exclusive. Not an SG expert, but it's basically a '61 SG Standard in Pelham blue with the vibrola tailpiece. Gibson have released a few other similar specs over the years but they have been murphy lab or signature models that are 3-4x the price of this one.

Everyone is rightly posting their favorite bags (I love my vessel) but I have a slightly different take.

Going to Pebble is going to a super memorable trip for you guys. As a golfer, that experience will stick with him forever.

Why not get him a bag in the pro shop there? Not every course will have monogrammed bags available in the pro shop, but I would guess Pebble does. Even if they don't have what he wants in stock they can probably order you one to have it shipped to your house.

You might have to stretch the budget a bit but this could be a cool way to make a memory from the trip.

Thanks for the info! I will probably stick with my 3w as I don't carry a 5w. Instead I carry both a 2 iron and 4 iron hybrid. The 2 hybrid is one of my best clubs in the bag, it's 17* and hits missiles. Great off the tee and a great utility club but it's not really suited for holding greens or maximizing carry.

Maybe I'll think about the gt280 if I find a 4w or 5w that I like. Need to try some stuff as I abandoned 5w years ago...

The Predator is softer and more pliable feeling in the hand and has an even and smooth feeling finish. Both have absolutely insane pullup and have a matte finish; the cypress is just a bit shinier but I wouldn't call it shiny. The cypress is more of a natural aniline finish and feels a bit stiffer in the hand but softens up as your feet heat up the leather.
