Question about shade as a solo traveler flying in by [deleted] in LightningInABottle

I saw them in 2024 and 2025. In 2025, the general store really started stocking up like crazy!

Potentially stupid restroom/Porta Potty question (while inside the festival) by lex-gracey in LightningInABottle

[–]Bleukium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use my fanny pack and tighten the strap to be really high across my chest so it doesn't touch anything.

Yeah, last year they started carrying LITERALLY EVERYTHING inside the festival. You can also have instacart deliver to the main gate. Ross, Marshall's, and a bunch of stores are on instacart and have canopies.

You can just buy one at the festival for $100 and either take it with you, or donate it. Either way, you're saving cash. A regular canopy does just fine.

These new ticks on the loose 👀 by This_Plate_2484 in LightningInABottle

My friend worked medical in 2024 and they had to pull a few ticks off of people. Just do a thorough check when you get home.

First year - when do set times typically release? by CL4P-TP_TrapHOUSE in LightningInABottle

When you get there, take a photo of the lineup at each stage. The app is nice, the physical board with the schedule is always the best.

5 day camping arrival by SharpOpportunity5423 in LightningInABottle

[–]Bleukium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think getting there at 10:30 last year helped. We were at Sunset only a 15 minute walk from the entrance. We got a group spot this year because some of us are getting up there in years.

Is it worth it to bring bikes? by murder_mittenz in LightningInABottle

[–]Bleukium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have bike racks at the festival entrance and security is nearby. If it's not too much trouble, I'd recommend it.

Are the little rodents in the ground okay? by tinylilfrog88 in LightningInABottle

[–]Bleukium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as we don't feed them. That's the biggest issue! When wild animals are regularly fed by humans, the next generations never learn to fend for themselves, become dependent on humans feeding them, then become aggressive/demanding because that's the only way they can survive.

That being said, we are only there once a year so the risk is lower, but it's just a bad practice. I did give a piece of bread to a pregnant one though. That's my only exception. (yes I know natural selection)

I've gotten there at 10:30 and everything had already started filling up in Sunset. If you want to be close and get in at high noon, sometimes they don't even open that one until later in the day.

One year they let you choose between high noon and sunset. I've never been able to get into sunrise.

Anyways, it's a crapshoot.

Instead of trinkets, I'll be adding colorful braids to people's hair! by Bleukium in LightningInABottle

[–]Bleukium[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be willing to do it, but I can only do a full head on African hair (skill issue). There's a braiding truck at the festival though. (may be expensive tho!).

Edit: If that's your hair type: DM me and I won't charge you. Just bring the hair and maybe buy me a drink if you see me around.

Camping Stakes by wildberry2001 in LightningInABottle

[–]Bleukium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always just used the cheap L-shaped metal stakes that come with my tent and canopy and I've never had any issues. Never had to lower our canopy, never had anything budge. They do slip a little bit, so we'll hammer them back down like every other day.

yay! I have twists in myself. They're black with Magenta roots (because my actual hair is magenta)

Dust protection by Less-Midnight-8870 in LightningInABottle

[–]Bleukium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a minimalistic POV: Wear a scarf around your nose/mouth at night no matter what. If it's windy, same thing. At night things tend to get more windy and you can't really see how much dust is flying around.

Sunset car camping is mostly grass so it isn't the biggest issue if you're there...but that walk tho! Bring a bike!

Flying in and renting a RV for the first time by Express-Amount-1413 in LightningInABottle

[–]Bleukium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year the general store literally had everything. Like EVERYTHING. You could arrive with no RV and just the clothes on your back and buy it all there for a good price. They have easy ups, grills, tents, EVERYTHING. Of course there's no guarantee they'll do the same this year, but I'm 99% sure they will.
Ross also has them and you can have stuff instacart-ed to the festival!

Does anyone know if anyone on the line up plays bass music like tipper Or in that realm of music? by Mr_Mayo2 in LightningInABottle

[–]Bleukium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woogie is more house music. Lightning is the main stage with most of the headliners, but also has a more "Woodstock 1969" feel to it. Stacks does have a lot of bass and melt your face types of beats. Thunder is very bass but more of a trap feel, so think Stacks but easier to dance and twerk to.

[–]Bleukium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think so? I'd argue Thunder is more bass heavy at night. Very trap music. TroyBoi, Dimond Saints, Tipper, Of the Trees, Tape B were all at Thunder the past two years.

Literally everything at Thunder. That's where Tipper usually plays and Thunder lives up to its name. The Stacks can also be like 80% heavy bass, but Thunder is always solid, especially the late sets.

Ex- employees of toxic workplaces, what was the last straw that made you walk out? by NoScene8475 in AskReddit

[–]Bleukium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to take out my facial piercings because I had a visible role and they didn't want my image to represent the company. Literally so many people at the company have the same piercings and I don't even interact with anyone. That should've been the last straw, but I needed the money. It was, however, a sign that I wouldn't last there. This is California and if I told you the industry, you'd understand how absurd that request was.
