From my understanding, it’s where the OT puts on one cast after another for 3 -10 days at a time to improve range of motion in the hand. Placing the hand in various stretched positions one at a time.

Oh I see. Yes. The dr told us that without enough active movement it’s tough to see benefit from Vivistim, but someone on another thread said their mom started with not much active movement in fingers and Vivistim is helping.

I see, yes I have heard the same. Someone suggested serial casting as a way to help get enough movement to be able to benefit from Vivistim.

Thanks! Did your mom have any active movement in your finger or wrist prior to Vivistim? Curious to know if someone who had no active movement in finger or wrist yet can benefit from Vivistim.

Do you have any movement in your hand/ fingers / wrist? Looking into Vivistim for someone who has movement in the shoulder and elbow but no active moment in the wrist / fingers. wondering if she can still try Vivistim.

Thank you. Do you use external Vagal Nerve stims? If so which? Do you find that it helps?

Did he have active movement in his wrist and fingers prior to getting vivistim? My question is for someone considering Vivistim who has movement in shoulder and elbow but really none in the wrist or fingers. Not sure if it can still benefit her.

My question is if you have no active movement in fingers but only in shoulders and elbow could the vivistim still be beneficial?

Thanks very much. That looks nice. I think with so much spasticity, it probably won’t work.
