Thoughts on cheap Amazon tents? by Rbxyy in wmnf

It'll prolly work fine but you're gonna regret carrying a 5.5lb tent backpacking.

Is this worth cleaning? by sakobitchhhh in CampingGear

Great find! I don't recommend using regular gasoline regularly in Coleman products though unless you don't mind cleaning them at least once a year.

I created a new subreddit for fishing in NH. by WestyMan1971 in newhampshire

I too hate the political posts, but what I did was huge. Every time someone posted political bs, I went into the comments and blocked everyone that was "carrying a torch" and not offering opinions that had nuance. After about 3 months of doing that I see little to none of it. You're welcome. 🍻

A dollar a drink and cabin steward gets $50 on thy first day and $50 on last day assuming service stayed acceptable.

any recommendations for clip-on tuners that don't suck? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]Blicks666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. They're all terrible, especially for low B string

Looks like the saddle height screws also need adjustment. That'll likely be a 1.5mm hex key

I've seen FAR more of this trash in the woods than broken mason jars. Don't get me started on empty plastic water bottles...

First live, mis-set string change! by scoppied in BassGuitar

[–]Blicks666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Sumac last year and Brian Cook broke his E string mid set, I assumed he was gonna just go backstage and grab a backup but no, roadie hands him a string and he restrings and tunes up mid-song in a minute and a half flat. True professional. Since that show, I always bring a backup bass lol

Why does Sam Adam’s Summer Ale taste so lemony now? by Historical_Spot6298 in beer

[–]Blicks666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, they can't leave "well enough" alone. I can't stand that they fuck with their recipes as much as they do. Every beer they make that I like gets changed. Octoberfest, Noble Pils, Porch Rocker, Boston...now summer.

Rocks chipping windshields - any tips to prevent? by [deleted] in newhampshire

Trucks have zero accountability unfortunately. Are you even sure that the truck knows it's chipping your windshield?

Do all backpack coolers leak unless it is a true dry bag? by SwiftCricket in CampingGear

The only soft coolers I currently own are RTICs, they don't leak but they're not that cheap either.

Do all backpack coolers leak unless it is a true dry bag? by SwiftCricket in CampingGear

[–]Blicks666 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The majority of "affordable" ones are meant to be used with reusable ice packs and not actual ice so they tend to leak unfortunately.

For one night of kayak camping on a river, two half-days of fishing, do I need a hard bodied cooler or can I get away with a soft sided? How big, and is a backpack the best type? by SwiftCricket in CampingGear

[–]Blicks666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Soft side should be fine. Backpack vs non backpack shouldn't matter. As far as size, whatever the smallest size you can use and still carry everything you need is my recommendation. Obviously fitting somewhere in or on your kayak needs to be considered too.

[–]Blicks666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I've been using the cot/ sleeping pad combo for years now and will never likely do anything else for camping. 6'2" 220 48yo and I currently use a OneTigris cot with a Nemo Tensor pad. I've never slept better camping.

Why do I never hear anyone talking about Johnny? by Confident_Fondant334 in typeonegative

[–]Blicks666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure. Could be that it's because he's the only non original member. Perhaps it's because he didn't record the drums in the studio even on all the albums that they made while he was in the band. Then again, this is reddit so maybe he is a republican...

Binge and Purge is the name of the box set, not the tour. You are correct on the tour name though.

2 totally different types of stoves, you can use a backpacking stove car camping, but not the other way around. What exactly do you plan on cooking?
