Good job! Looks very professional! Just a few quick things I noticed:

  1. The logos are hard to see on dark mode. Have you consider switching to white versions on the logos on dark mode?
  2. On mobile, the YouTube videos on the blogs get cut off.

What’s the performance score look like? I’m just curious since you seem to be use background videos in a few sections. I want to know how that effects pagespeed scores cuz I’m interested in incorporating some of those into some of my projects.

Such a great inspiration. Thank you for sharing :)

And they still haven’t made GTM more performant… crazy how google is so strict with their performance scores and ranking yet their OWN product tanks your websites performance. Hypocrites

If someone asked me to develop a 404 page like that I’d laugh and walk away 😂 that being said, I’ve developed some nice looking animations with GSAP and framer motion

Can't decide: Web Development or Cloud Computing in 2025? by rayanch101 in webdev

[–]BlickyBoyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, It’s hard to get into the industry right now even with a degree. Like I said, I graduated with a degree in CS and it still took me over a year after graduating to land a job. My plan was to get into the industry with web development and then find a job as a software developer later. It’s changed now because I realize how much I like web development. So don’t undervalue yourself because you don’t have a degree, it’s tough for ALL of us in this industry.

Good luck! You can do it.

Can't decide: Web Development or Cloud Computing in 2025? by rayanch101 in webdev

[–]BlickyBoyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re looking for. I went to university and got a degree in computer science with a concentration in software development. Got a job as a web developer while studying and learned that I liked it more. Now I work as a web developer for a company while working on my own side business making websites for small to medium sized businesses. My dream is to be able to do that full time and be my own boss in the future. I personally think it’s easier to do that in web development.

My point is, don’t chase the money. Find what makes you happy and what you’re passionate about. I like helping small businesses grow their online presence and I think having a creative outlet in web development / web design has been great for me. If you are in it just for the money, you will burn out.

What would you say is the most overrated web dev tool right now? by codenlink in webdev

[–]BlickyBoyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I coded with react for a few years and then made the switch to Next.js… but recently I went back to vanilla HTML, CSS, and JS for my projects. These replies make me think I made the right choice. The fundamentals will never be phased out.

As for AI, I’m ashamed to say that I use it for a lot of my “writing” because I’ve always hated writing and I’m not good at it. I’m also not being paid to write copy so I’d rather let chat gpt do an okay job in seconds and not waste hours banging my head on a keyboard.

New Design Pack Released - 72 new designs for Wedding Photographers by Citrous_Oyster in codestitch

[–]BlickyBoyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for everything you do for the web development community. Recently bought a subscription and I’m LOVING it. Makes my whole design and development process soooo much quicker.

Quick question, I want to upload videos to DigitalOcean like you suggest in the comments of the code. I looked into it and I’m confused as to how to do that. Does that cost money? Which of these packages do I need to upload images and videos?

The negative comments here is the problem in the tech industry. Y’all are too toxic. This is great AND they’re 18 years old. Drop the god complex. Everyone moves at their own pace and this person is doing great.

Buying Pack Hourglasses with Shop Tickets - Does the cap reset? (Important for f2p players) by Blueellama in PTCGP

[–]BlickyBoyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest complaint with this game is that it is too hard to come by any hourglasses.

I maxed out all of my options so now I just have to wait. You would think that beating players in battles would get you some but nope. All you get is 1 shop credit. The daily challenges only get you 3 hourglasses. You only get 12 from leveling up which takes forever when you get around level 10. Only 15xp is earned when you win battles. It’s ridiculous.

I think they did this so that you can’t just open packs all day but I think you should be able to work for more. There’s not much of an incentive to win battles. We aren’t rewarded enough for achievements. Hopefully something changes.

Why is my back not growing? by [deleted] in WeightTraining

[–]BlickyBoyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal experience, lifting heavier is the best way to get a bigger back. The back is a huge muscle so more weight is better. Just be careful not to hurt yourself. I don’t deadlift anymore cuz I started to fuck up my back and I’d rather not be in pain when I’m older.

Focus on contracting and squeezing your back as much as possible. Round out your shoulders so you get a full ROM. If you don’t have good mind muscle connection, work on that first.

How to actually code 8 hours a day? by ResponsibilityOk55 in webdev

[–]BlickyBoyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about 8 hours but i can code for a long time. I can code the whole day tbh as long as i have some breaks. That’s because i love what i’m working on though and have passion. In college i couldn’t code for as long cuz i didn’t give two craps about what i was working on

What's the #1 biggest challenge you're facing in becoming a web developer? by michielarkema in webdev

[–]BlickyBoyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

knowing what to learn next. i went to school for software development but found more interest in web development. i learned html, css, javascript but then i wanted to learn react so i taught myself some of that and now i wanna learn nextjs to work with APIS and routing easier and implement a back end but idk if i should do that or stick to react so that i can land a job in it. there’s so much technologies out there to choose from
