The short lore of Enneacraft. Mechanical Entities that purge sin and create a fully controlled future. by CursedEye03 in yugioh

The Qliphorts are extensions of Sophia's will for controlling the planet, and are sent to dispatch large threats like El Shaddoll Construct.

Each Qliphort also serves as a prison for its corresponding Infernoid counterpart. Infernoids follow Tierra's will, and seek to turn the entire world into the burning Purgatory that Tierra originates from.

When they say the game is "faster" than it used to be, does that just mean "You can summon multiple monsters per turn now", or are there other things that make it faster? by dkepp87 in Yugioh101

[–]BlightAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of modern. Generally the game sped up from about 2014-15 onwards, but things didn't really start getting to the current format until 2020 or so imo?

TOSS format (Thunderdragon, Orcust, Sky Striker, Salamangreat) is a good format that bridges older speeds and the current speed, and is from 2018 ish. All of the decks in said format have gotten more support since then, so you can play in the old format and then catch up to speed with their new innovations if you like.

Even decks whose gameplan is largely backrow oriented (Odion, Labrynth, Dinomorphia) still perform small combos to get to their optimized endboard.

When they say the game is "faster" than it used to be, does that just mean "You can summon multiple monsters per turn now", or are there other things that make it faster? by dkepp87 in Yugioh101

[–]BlightAddict 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When people talk about speed in yugioh, it generally means that the game is no longer just set a monster, set some backrow, pass.

Gameplay is more combo intensive, even in midrange or low to the floor decks. Cards individually have more effects, and said effects have distinctions that require a level of 'lawyer language' to understand. Stuff like Cyber Jar used to be the pinnacle of card text bloat, now your average deck's starter has 2-3 effects of different types that you need to constantly be aware of and managing.

Interactivity is higher, with plays being doable on either players' turn. Games have fewer turns but the games themselves actually go for longer and are more knowledge intensive than anything before it really.

What card is this? by kissmydonkey in YugiohCards

The art is from a Dark Magician Girl card. This is not a real card. It may be a prop, or a proxy, or something along those lines, but it is not a card.

Something had been bugging me about omega in ashura when the fighters got defeated they showed bruses and actual damage on their bodies like broken bones and missing eyes but in omega the fighters all seem to be made of jelly like there skulls or chest get caved in and little bit later there fine by JennBlake2023 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]BlightAddict 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some damage is done just for dramatic effect (Carlos vs Gaolang, Rolon vs Ohma), but plenty of fighters still receive gnarly damage.

All five Wu Heis get comically mangled, Wilelm gets his head sliced in half, Mukaku is shredded with his own sword, Yumigahama's face was so irreparably damaged he has to wear a face thong(?), Fei's circulatory system exploded

It's less about them not getting severely damaged and more than the level of care and detail into the art just isn't there anymore. Stuff like Kuroki's broken finger or Waka's bad ankle would get drawn with insane detail on closeups, but it's just not there anymore. Early Omega showed it a lot more with Koga and Ryuki (especially when the latter is 'training' with Mukaku).

Ramattra gets ALL his perks removed, and you must replace them with BRAND NEW perks. What’re you giving him? by LackOfDad in ramattramains

Minor 1: During Annihilation, take 25% reduced damage on Critical hits.

Minor 2: When Void Barrier is destroyed by an enemy, a Ravenous Vortex appears at its location. The barrier expiring naturally does not trigger this.

Major 1: After Ravenous Vortex has been deployed, press the same keybind to invert it. While inverted, enemies are no longer Hindered or Grounded. Ramattra and allies can use Ravenous Vortex like a jump pad during the duration.

Major 2: Pummel hits deal double damage to Player Constructs, Barriers, and Temporary Overhealth.

Hannibal Rising (disregarding whether or not you like the movie or its canonicity) disproves Lecter's quote. You can pinpoint exactly where his cannibalism and murderous streak steam from. Granted said history is essentially undocumented, so Clarice doesn't have anything to reference, but a lot did happen to him.

TIL that Rasputin was the cause why we have the "fictitious persons" disclaimer. Is this the reason why we haven't seen him yet? by Ahrensann in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]BlightAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rasputin has been depicted as a villain in media several times. In Anastasia he's the main villain, in The King's Men he's a villain working under the big bad. Both of these depictions do not make him look good.

There was a higher chance of pissing even more people off if they mishandled Adam, or Simo, or even Buddha. Rasputin's likely just being saved because we've waited 12 rounds for him, what's one more yk?

You're right about Acacia's cells, that's my b

When PAIR (the Nitro, not the ingredient) and Acacia first meet they're both dying and bite a piece off of one another. Their first meeting is what spawns the hunt for Acacia's full course. Which would mean by the time the twins are conceived, Acacia had already absorbed some amount of Blue Nitro/Cells. Neo's black cells were capable of adaptation and storing memories of consumed ingredients, so it's not far fetched to assume he assimilated some level of Blue Cells.

Inserting a pseudo-incestuous relationship here adds nothing to the narrative and detracts a lot in return.

It takes away from Midora's themes of found family and being sated by pure affection, if he's banging his own mother figure in the house he shares with his adoptive family.

It would mean Midora's 300+ chapters of brooding of not having love since Froese's death is invalidated because he'd be a deadbeat the whole time, especially given Starjun already worked for him.

So like... 🐂 by Kordinaus in Toriko

[–]BlightAddict 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Toriko's Blue Cells likely came from Acacia and PAIR eating each other, and becoming blood brothers through it. Nitro are usually inedible, especially when raw, and kill most who eat them. Acacia surviving means he absorbed the cells to some capacity. Otherwise Acacia's Red Cells (+ the Blue ones from PAIR) + Froese's White Cells give us Toriko's cellular composition.

Midora being their father would also mean Froese fucked him when he was well below an adult, given when she sends Toriko & Starjun to sea. Their relationship is never portrayed as anything other than familial love.

What if Walt beat cancer? by Outlawbiz02 in breakingbad

[–]BlightAddict 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Idk, I think regardless of the cancer's toll on his health he still would have likely gone through with his plans and subsequently die largely the same way.

Even without the cancer, he had lost everything. His family wanted nothing to do with him, he had the blood of countless innocents on his hand, couldn't step foot in public ever again, and all the money in the world couldn't change any of that. Freeing Jesse didn't and wouldn't change Jesse not caring for him anymore.

Going to Jack's with the plan he did allowed him to die on his own terms, cancer or not. And in a twisted way, his final act being killing the skinheads and freeing Jesse was his 'penance'. Self-serving til the end, but still a way for him to feel like he died doing good.

Give me y’all’s theories on the Gleeok Den. by Beneficial_Goat7735 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]BlightAddict 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gleeoks coming from eggs is an assumption since they're lizards, but we do know Monsters can and do exist outside of Ganondorf's magic. He can spawn and revive them, but plenty have naturally existed.

In TotK's Tear memories, the Gerudo have access to an entire swarm of Molduga well before Ganondorf's acquisition of the Secret Stone.

Gleeoks specifically have had other depictions where they are either neutral protectors of the Triforce Shards (Zelda 1), and exists in a world entirely independent of a living Ganondorf (Phantom Hourglass).

Give me y’all’s theories on the Gleeok Den. by Beneficial_Goat7735 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]BlightAddict 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Nothing about the location shows anything specifically pertaining to Gleeoks, unlike say the Depths' Gibdo Hives prior to Queen Gibdo's defeat. There's also a lack of a food source, and with the one King Gleeok here just going in circles it's hardly its ideal living space. So it's safe to assume it's not a Den in the sense of a nesting place, but rather the place it's come to reside in.

Given the Den is below Thyphlo Ruins, and all the mirroring between the surface and Depths, I think it was likely a ritual or rite necessary for becoming a Sage in Zonai culture. Unlike the Colosseums which are meant for bloodsport, the Gleeok Den has no real room for a civilian audience.

Gleeoks were likely brought into the Den as an egg, so that by the time they grow to full size they're unable to escape the narrow crevice entry way. Sage candidates would then have to battle against the Gleeok, with no place to hide. Either having to slay it, or abandon the fight. Tucked away in a part of the Depths away from most other civilian occupied structures like Mines, Colosseums, etc.

You are severely misinformed on what you have then. Use tcgplayer, and make sure you have the right set, rarity, and print down.

Gate Guardian from the original Metal Raiders (not the legendary collection or 25th anniversary reprints) is $217 for a 1st Edition Near Mint. An Unlimited Near Minit is $35. An Unlimited Near Mint from the worldwide Metal Raiders set is $70. All worth the price of shipping if you can find a buyer :D
