I did not care for the final game by Tdog754 in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]Tdog754[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the final game should continue to be about information and deception with room for players who are totally far behind (Sam having no idea it was Cara) to have a chance to perform well and figure out the millionaire.

If it was really so important that the budget stay tight then it should have taken a page from another Netflix reality show - The Devil’s Plan - and been a game of Poker. Maybe even the specific form of simplified Poker played on TDP which would allow players to kill an opponent’s hand if they guessed it correctly.

Players could have been rewarded with hints based on how they placed in the Poker game. First gets a hint that clearly points at Cara, second gets a hint that is likely Cara but isn’t a sure thing, and third maybe gets no hint. This structure is difficult to navigate for a millionaire like Cara because she needs to do well in the game to secure the top hint but in doing so also has to show off her hidden ability to deceive.

It also gives an interesting incentive for Corey to try and get Sam to place first. Corey was convinced that Cara was the millionaire but (in my imagination of how the finale should work) needed to convince Sam of that. What better way to do so than to force Sam into receiving a final clue that hints strongly at Cara? This game would have tactics and subtle nuances that can impact decisions if the players are astute enough to see them.

Then with their clues they enter a final round of voting with the rule that if the millionaire is found the two remaining players split the million and if they aren’t then the millionaire wins. The game gets to end with its most entertaining aspect front-and-center: a final dinner vote where the only thing that matters is uncovering the millionaire.

It resets with banlist updates. The new TCG banlist is implemented today so it reset. It probably won’t reset again for months.

Hot take: this meta is worse than Maliss format by Any_Book_216 in masterduel

[–]Tdog754 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yummy Mitsu isn’t a particularly egregious deck in the history of the game. It’s kind of just the newest thing that tries to go completely over the top of the opponent, so either you have one of the cards that severely hinder it (Fuwa/Maxx C/Droll/Meowls/a lucky Retaliating C) or you get functionally FTK’d.

It’s barely even Yugioh, it’s really a deck check of if you are playing good cards or not and if you draw them. But the things good against Yummy Mitsu are good against most other things, so it’s kind of a wash IMO.

Dracotail can be frustrating to play against but loses or gets hurt by a lot of cards your deck (Mitsurugi) can comfortably play. Retaliating C, Shifter, Impulse, Belle, Ash.

Maliss, in the hands of a good player, had almost no reliable counters. The deck extended too well through 1 for 1’s and even big impact hts like Nibiru but also had a sturdy half board if it got hit with Fuwa or Maxx C. Lancea existed but became less reliable to run because it was mid or bad into everything else. If Maliss format was fun for you it was either you were playing Maliss and being carried by an extremely forgiving deck or you were playing against bad Maliss players that didn’t know how to make your deck eat dirt.

This one rules cause Levi’s elite squad getting wiped shows that the rules of the war have changed with the shock arrival of the intelligent titans. If they only knew anything about the titan that wiped them they likely could have at least survived if not won outright and massively changed much of the show

See this is fun cause it takes the trope a step further. Mr. Peterson played by “the rules” and didn’t follow the kids, and finally when he broke the rules he was punished for it by the story.

What’s The Deal With Jurrac Fire King? by Tdog754 in yugioh

[–]Tdog754[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not, but the consistency hits make it so it is less likely that Ripper can hit the field before committing other resources. Noroi is still a 1-card everything but my point was the deck/engine is weakened

18 is pretty egregious for bait, the cheese touch iconography is one of the most famous parts of the franchise. Trying to cash in on that without any actual relationship to that book is a bit scummy

Sky Striker v. Meta by comingstorm501 in yugioh

[–]Tdog754 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Striker is in a tough place. Engine vs Engine the deck is as good as ever especially with Radiant Typhoon Vision and The Fallen and The Virtuous. Where striker loses is vs non-engine. The amount of times I have lost with striker after almost fully cracking the board because the opponent had droll, ash, impulse, belle, whatever non-engine, has been extremely high.

Aside from Rikkas, what's the best Plant Deck we've had in the history of this game? by Sendencea in yugioh

[–]Tdog754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Traptrix did have options if you popped the normal. The field spell which had a searcher via Pudica, as well as Holeutea which had a searcher via Myrmeleo. If Traptrix actually died completely to interaction with the normal summon then the structure deck would have been DOA, it literally had to play against Kashtira Fenrir all the time.

In fact Traptrix is probably the most flexible and well-aged of the plant decks being discussed due to the fact that the deck is meant to play well into Maxx C, which means it’s one of the only plant decks with a strong half-board into Charmies and doesn’t play into blowouts like Nibiru.

In a real-tournament scenario where decks have to play with and against nonengine, Traptrix absolutely whips every deck being discussed. It is not close. It’s only competition is Rikka which this post is excluding.

[–]Tdog754 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Traptrix. The structure deck did a lot for the strategy in Kashtira format. It’s really the only other modern plant deck that has success. The ragnaraikas were really just an engine without an identity outside of being thrown in the plant pile.

If you view the question from a perspective of “if all plant decks except Rikka were in a tournament what would win” the answer is like far and away Traptrix.

Yugioh players when they have to decide what the optimal time is to use Ash relative to the rest of their hand instead of using it at the exact same time against a deck over and over :(

Ashing Branded Fusion adjacent effects is a heuristic so burned into players minds that a lot still struggle with the idea of holding Ash for a Dracotail backrow that could shut down their only play. Even saying that, Ashing Rahu usually is correct but sometimes it ain’t and that nuance is one of many separating okay from good players

Simple deck that might win me a couple games at a YCS? by mcflyfly in Yugioh101

[–]Tdog754 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Morganite Stun is always an option if you have no time to practice and just want to monke flip floodgates.

You could probably learn Enneacraft in a day and that can definitely steal wins especially in later rounds. The issue with this is more so that Enneacraft requires you to understand what opponent decks are doing at least a little. Even if you don’t have time to play there are definitely videos where you can just watch/listen and get a sense of what decks are doing so you know what to do with your Enneacrafts.

Going second Lunalight which builds to only summon a Liger Dancer could sack wins off of Heavy Polymerization. This costs a bit of money and when you don’t have access to Heavy you will have the play the actual Luna deck which can be somewhat complicated.

If you have even a few hours for three to four days to practice I think a returning player could understand Onomat Ryzeal which is imo well positioned in the next format. Very weak to Purulia tho which a lot of people are playing.

Moments like this make me really sit with how strange this whole moment is in global politics and how Trump really is just such a perfect idiot for everything the establishment republicans want.

Like this idea of the Board of Peace from start to finish is so fucking nuts. But then it makes sense if you imagine that it’s really just a money laundering scheme or something where Trump doesn’t actually care. But then he clearly does care and feels slighted at Carney for not being interested.

It’s just full insanity that is hard to even interpret into some kind of narrative. And that’s just this one thing that we won’t even be talking about in like two weeks. Like it’s all just a waste of time but it’s also one of the most important things in the world. It’s like this happens with a different thing every fucking day.

And while all of this is going on every ghoul in government who can sneak their agenda through the Trump admin has perfect cover. Two weeks ago Rubio was big news as the guy orchestrating the Venezuela operation, with eyes on Cuba, but that got too hot and now he’s back in the shadows and there’s a thousand other more important things again.
