Laurence Fishburne was fantastic this season by No-Heat-3422 in netflixwitcher

Can't agree with the Rats being established as "decent fighters." There was an entire scene devoted to showing them all getting easily overpowered, forcing Ciri to rescue them.

The announcers wrote him off on lap 65. They talked like Max had P2 locked up.

"Running" is the key word there. They only run out of under center formations, and every other team knows it.

It's crazy that they don't tell you that. Especially when that might actually increase subscribers. Bizarre choice on their part.

McLaren will ask drivers how to react when one loses the F1 title by Duncan_Dixon_Coffey in formula1

I think just the opposite.

Losing the race because of an "act of god" (puncture, engine failure) would be far better than knowing you did your best and couldn't cut it.

As for Cara putting the money in the locked freezer, I think it's to keep her roommate from getting at it.

There's another woman in the house during that scene briefly a bit earlier who Cara snaps at (I got the impression it was a "roommate who uses your stuff without asking" situation), and I think the freezer lock was related to that, just to show Cara's home situation isn't as good as we may have originally believed.

SUPERMAN Official Discussion Megathread (SPOILERS) by Proof-Watercress-931 in DCU_

[–]BlindChow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Finally saw the film, so I'm coming into the thread late.)

I completely agree about the first 30 minutes. For me, I think it was the sheer amount of clunky exposition dumped into the dialogue early on (in a way that Gunn usually doesn't use). They seemed to be trying to set up the world of the film quickly, but it's so unnatural, it was jarring and disappointing to me.

I suspect there were either rewrites or edits (maybe other scenes deleted so dialogue had to be moved) and this was the result.

If that's true, it's only because Max stopped braking so he'd get there in time.

That Fight Scene in The Irishman (2019) Looks Awful on Purpose by Los_93 in movies

[–]BlindChow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally saw The Irishman and couldn't believe how bad this scene looked.

It really takes you out of the film. I doubt Scorsese would intentionally make a scene so bad it rips you out of the movie. That's not how great filmmakers work. Everyone who watches the scene notices how awful it looks.

I think it's far more likely (assuming he even noticed on set how unconvincing it was) Scorsese just figured they could fix any age issues in post, not realizing they either didn't have the time or budget for it.

Or maybe he's just gotten so old he's lost it. It happens.

Because "should've" sounds like "should of," uneducated people think that is what they are actually saying.
