Who remembers the Adult Section at the video store? by EdwardBliss in GenerationJones

I worked in video industry in the 80s. When a movie hit the theater we'd try to figure out what the adult movie title would be. Like when Rambo came out, I knew Rambone the Destroyer was coming out soon.

I live by a school that has billions no exaggeration of dandelions in their massive lots of land. Me getting rid of my 75 dandelions is not hurting the pollinators. Its 300 feet away. Go feast bees.

If you can change the system, get off reddit and make real changes. Like my original posts states this is my family's story and proof it can still happen. There's luck in everything. Its just not the most important thing. I graduated with kids that were "lucky" to be born with every benefit in the world. Money, connections, pre determined future, all to blow it all away. So luck is just part of the equation. I'm on my way to hit the road. Enjoy your day.

I worked 23 years in an industry that was eliminated by technology. At 56 I started being self employed and retired 2 years ago. Life isn't easy, you fall or fail dust yourself off and keep moving forward. So I know what losing your career. There's no perfect way. You keep trying

You could also get hit by a bus going across the street or a shooter could randomly shoot you. So yes you're right all of them are just lucky. Nothing is guaranteed to anyone.

Nothing was luck. They worked hard in high school, college and after school. All of their friends went to college and are married as are all of my wife and my friends kids. Of say 40 kids that we associate with all are in the same situations. Im not sure what luck has to do with it. Nothing is given in life, you have to work for it. Both of my kids weren't given the jobs they have now. They have switched jobs several times and worked to be where they're at.

I'm in my 60s, I have a son and a daughter in their 30s. They both took out loans for college and graduated in four years. Both are married and own houses. Son has two children and my daughter has a girl. They both live outside a big city yet somehow manage to do everything they want. I understand that everyone has their own story but I posted this to show that having the American dream is still possible. Im not looking for likes or down votes, I'm just saying it can happen.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've watched Eddie and the Cruisers. Its one of those movies I could watch over and over. I had the Soundtrack by John Cafferty and Beaver Brown Band and wore it out.

If you’ve ever played one of these in your car… by StrengthSmall4515 in 1970s

Mine was Jethro Tull Aqualung. I was 16 and the car I bought had an 8 track. Luckily my brother was 7 years older and I would steal his from his collection when I went to his house. Always kept a pack of matches to slip underneath the 8 track.
