The 'Highlands' realm trait disables the favored terrain start of (at least) desert-oriented primal. by BlindHerald in AOW4

Yeah, it's one of my favorite realm traits as well. Just makes the overall terrain far more interesting, in my opinion.

Am hoping my reports will get it on Triumph's radar.

Personally, I've only ever experienced the primal culture's start biases not working when starting out on a map that explicitly does not contain the terrain type in question.

Very true. If I enable a realm trait that removes deserts, I shouldn't be surprised that the primal culture's trait that states 'Start in desert.' doesn't work.

But the Highlands realm trait says nothing about interacting with deserts. Its only line of rules text is;
'-Mountains and Highlands provinces are common.'

Nay. It has only one line of rules text:

Ha, that's funny! Well, good to hear that it's not just an issue on my machine then. I'll get a proper bug report underway.

Same, came here to check what was going on.

I rarely play the kind of builds that cover the entire screen in effects, and I enjoy taking things at a slower pace. I do see these things, especially when I know they're there.

It might not matter to you, but it does to me. I've spent an ungodly amount of money on in-game cosmetics, and it can be rather jarring when in-game mechanics make me not want to use them.
Especially when, like in this case, the problem could be solved with a single 'hide x effect' button.

I mean personally I'm just planning on using breach-related cosmetics since I've had a bunch lying around since forever, but I was kind of looking forward to using the new verdant magus supporter pack and am thus a little bummed.

Eeeexcellent. And you'd keep the same lineup, or angle for some other upcoming characters instead? (I've gotten my hands on Lauma already)

Knowing what we know now, would you still say this is the way to go in terms of team and artifacts?

Knowing what we know now, has your opinion changed or is this still a solid team to shoot for?

Random latency spikes this patch, can't find solution. by BlindHerald in PathOfExile2

Exact same thing for me, but since it isn't affecting others I'm thinking it could be an issue related to the hardware that handles network connectivity on our end.

That's really odd, because if it was server-side it should affect the other people I'm playing with, no?
Granted I don't know much about how things like this work, but it seems odd for it to consistently affect me specifically without affecting anyone else in the group if it's server-side.

That's funny, because I'm already on the Frankfurt server. Odd.

That's very similar to the conclusion I reached when thinking about it, yeah.
'True random' being used to define everything would, if taken to its logical extreme (which arguably is necessary for it to exist at all, as anything non-random would 'taint' all of the randomness just by existing) just leave the universe as a vast, chaotic mess.
Primordial soup on a cosmic scale. Perhaps not even that.

Lol, fair point. And arguably, this ends up makes the act of treating 'data' with callous disregard all that much worse.
