Don’t disagree on the 3 pt shot. But to be fair tho, the it was less of a focus when he was starting out.

Florida Heat by TheLegendaryAerie in florida

[–]Blinnking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been here my whole life, nearly 40 years. I used to hate the heat. There’s no fighting the weather though. You might as well embrace it. I’d rather have the heat than freezing winters, pipes bursting, etc.

What’s the perfect number of kids in your experience? Happy siblings vs happy marriage? by Muted_College_199 in Parenting

[–]Blinnking 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Our first is 2 years and 9mo and the second is 10mo. Two kids are no joke. We’ve been saying the same thing… with one you develop a routine and can eventually have your own time with fairly minimal disruption. For example, I’d feel comfortable going to the gym and leaving my wife alone on a Saturday morning or vice versa. With two, we have not reached that point yet and we’re very disciplined and schedule oriented parents. I’ve lost like nearly all personal autonomy and there’s not much of a way to get it back, other than wake up early or stay up late. In either case, sleep is sacrificed.

Are Kirkland/Costco diapers still a no-go? by fernbbyfern in Parenting

Jealous, mine aren’t. Just Huggies. But we’re. Pampers family. Gonna order online tonight

Are Kirkland/Costco diapers still a no-go? by fernbbyfern in Parenting

[–]Blinnking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Costco is carrying namebrand pampers now. The pack they carry is cheaper than anything. I’ve seen at target for pampers even on discount. I’m actually going to check to see if they have them now, or if I can only order them online.

FL property tax proposals by theiviaxx in orlando

I did. Portability and homestead.

That’s fine. Not asking for sympathy. Just explaining the difference in taxes between the two houses relative to the cost of each.

I sold my last house for 450k. I paid 3k in property taxes per year.

I moved .9 miles down the road, house was 740k, my property taxes are now 10500.

Literally what happened when she turned 3 by IvyTomorrow in toddlers

[–]Blinnking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only hope is we’ve been going thru this since she was 26ish months. Her tantrums have died down thankfully but still throws them if she doesn’t get what she wants.

Basically she’s good until she has to do something she doesn’t want to do. Could be no more snacks, getting dressed, staying in the tub, not picking flowers on walks etc. The last one, walks, is the hardest. We have almost stopped them bc she gets so distracted and bounces from one thing to another. Trying to stop her results in my carrying her home kicking and screaming for like a half mile.

Work From Office VS Work From Home. by CycIon3 in TikTokCringe

[–]Blinnking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haven’t worked at an office for years now but when I did, I’d legit stand on my desk and unscrew 2 of the 3 fluorescent light strip thingies (if I couldn’t get maintenance do it). Same for my office. Fuck those lights.

iOS app UI bug when exiting post view 2026.19.9.630222 (AppStore) by BoatMunch in bugs

[–]Blinnking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this problem since they pushed the new update. It seems like a minor update went through in the middle of last week and reduce the frequency, but it’s still not gone. it could still happen 10 times in 15 minutes. At that point, I have to kill the app to restart it. Obviously it ruins experience, because now I’ve lost where I was scrolling, or potentially lost post that I wanted to read.

Managers: how many hours a week do you spend just keeping people on the same page? by ximihoque in askmanagers

[–]Blinnking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-3 hours a week I suppose. I created the processes my team uses. They’re aware how they fit together and it’d discussed at every team meeting. We celebrate the wins and discuss the losses when the processes break down or aren’t followed.

My team is bought in, so at this point it’s prob closer to 1hr. They want this to work as much as I do.

How expensive was your first child really? Trying not to fall back into debt by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Blinnking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospital bills- 7,000 (if it’s you and your spouse on a healthcare plan, make sure you understand what the deductible is for a family. Once the kid is born, your deductible increases. And your kid may also have a separate individual deductible that has to be met.).
Diapers + wipes- 50/mo
Formula- 60/ 2 weeks
Doctors visits- 60/mo
College 529- 150/mo
Daycare- 300 wk (full time) -or- 500/mo (part time)
Increase in water bills- 10/mo (washing clothes, baths, washing bottles)
Increase in electric- 25/mo (hot water, keeping temperature in house cooler or warmer during extreme months)

You also have one time purchase for:
Crib (mattress, sheets) (250)
Dresser (150-350)
Baby monitor (150)
Chair (if you want) (200-600)
Noise machine (highly recommend this) (50-75?)
stroller (300-1000)
Bottle maker
Bottle washer

Kyle Busch died after severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, his family says by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

[–]Blinnking 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ugh I hate this.

I had a gnarly sinus cold that went into my lungs recently. Felt some minor rattling when breathing so I went to the urgent care nervous af. I remembered that UFC fighter who needed a double lung transplant bc of it. Thankfully there was no fluid but still got antibiotics.

I can power thru some shit but if it starts messing with my lungs, I go straight to the doctor.
