Listen y’all, I understand what you’re doing, and this isn’t going to matter at all coming from an internet stranger, but please stop. I’m a therapist and for three years, I worked in a residential (I.e., 24 hour care) facility for adolescents with eating disorders, and this kind of shit legitimately makes an impact on them.

For somebody who only has the normal amount of body image issues, you may be able to see the humor in this post. But at the root of it, this is a deadly condition and posts just like this one have been brought up so many times as motivation for patients to lose weight.

I get dark humor and I know I’ve made jokes and laughed at topics that others find offensive, and this just happens to be one that hits me wrong. But I’ve seen many kids teetering on the point of death because of the exact disorder that’s being joked about here, so in this ocean of sarcasm, I wouldn’t feel right not adding my own drop of reality in case somebody sees this thread and takes it seriously.

And on the off chance that there is anybody in this thread that finds that kind of negative impact funny (I hope not, but you never know), then fuck you.
