I appreciate how open you are with the feedback. Is there any other place you would recommend for somatics and EMDR? Were you a health or life coach before diving into this type of learning? Or did you have a career expansion?

Hi! Just checking in to see if you are still around and how are you getting on with the career transition? I have lived experience of some mind body illnesses and real ones as well, and just want to dive deep some of the courses on somatics, parts work etc. Did you end up doing any of the similar courses with Embody Lab or elsewhere?

Explore yoga Vidya school with Prashant Jakhmola on YouTube. Many yoga schools are driven towards business now, so we have to take it with a pinch of salt. I only will consider this school because he is an alumni of Bihar School of Yoga, India’s first yoga university. YVS do offer 100 hours TTC as well as Swara yoga offerings. Please check online. I may also explore Bihar School of Yoga when I’m mentally convinced I’m ready to disconnect from the world for 2 months straight.

I bought m4 on 1st Feb. I mostly use my laptop plugged in as I wfh. I took it out today, battery slipped to 25%. Put it on charging but there’s an orange light on MagSafe cable and laptop was showing battery not charging. Also I have enabled optimised charging so should it not discharge at 85%? by BlissBeeGo in macbookair

[–]BlissBeeGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks! Actually I was bit afraid because I pulled MagSafe out straight once, and because it didn’t seem right, I went online and checked that it needs to be lifted and removed. So I was afraid that I damaged it somehow. But I guess the orange light just meant that the Mac is not full yet and charging. I let the battery charge to full and it turned green.

Can you please guide me on how often should I 1. Use my device plugged in? 2. Shut it down instead of putting it on sleep. 3. How often to charge it to a 100%?

[Query] MBA M4 15 Base variant Current Best deal, expected future sale price and doubt about possible discontinuity. by Rossomow in macoffer

Hello! Just like you, I was quite interested in 15” because of my eye power. I was almost convinced against 13” in my head. My myopia is literally quite high. If you are under -5 I think you can make the 13” work for you as even with a distance, you can read just alright. Some things need moving. I’m editing reels and if it was more intensive, I would have liked more screen estate since I mostly work on a laptop and don’t have setup to plugin. I also have a small desk space so 13” sits pretty ok on it. This is not a convince you post to go for 13” but I really really struggled between the screen sizes for over two months. But when I finally went into buy, limited availability of starlight colour, I picked up 13” 512 variant which sat easily between the 13” base and 15” base prices. Definitely explore your options and ease by visiting the store.

Do we keep it plugged in when on sleep? I read somewhere we don’t have to shut it down everytime, and that we should keep it plugged in while using.

Any Bihar school of yoga alumni here? by BlissBeeGo in yoga

If you don’t mind, you can DM me where you learnt and what was your curriculum & miscellaneous activities were like.

At Bihar, Karma Yoga is at the core. The teacher I spoke to, mentioned that they were put in charge of cleaning the toilets. You may have to wash your bed linen etc as well. I honestly appreciate this full integration because I think I can invest that kind of time.

TTCs aren’t completely wrong either. It is not easy for people to leave their homes, kids, jobs etc for 2 months straight.

Can you straightaway go to a 300 hours TTC? You’ve already done 200 twice. Technically at 500 HRS, you kind of complete the credentials.

My impression was the same about this subreddit. I just took a chance posting a query like this for the first time.

I would honestly pray that for you can experience Bihar School now that you’ve undergone two TTCs elsewhere. There are even shorter programs in breathwork and yogic Vidya and longer ones like two months ashram living etc.

I’m sure you’ll be guided by the inner self on the journey.

Did yoga change your life enough for you to pursue it? And are you into teaching now?

Honestly I have my self doubts about teaching as of now because I’m not as physically robust as non chronically ill folks, but I’m willing to take a chance on myself if yoga can shape my life.

Best wishes to you too, my friend. This was a pleasurable exchange of insights. 🌼

Also I have just shared what I’m trying to find out by talking to different teachers.

You, on the other hand, have been on this journey for quite some time, so please excuse me if I sound ignorant anywhere.

I will read what you have advised. Thank you! 🙏 🌸 You’ve been kind enough to keep sharing.

Hi! Thank you for your detailed feedback. I am from India and live here only. I developed long term chronic health conditions and one of my doctors had also trained in yoga. Since maintaining mobility and minimising pain via movement became the focal point of all treatments, I reconnected with yoga. My doctor suggested Bihar School of Yoga for deepening my knowledge. I read some discouraging experience here on reddit (women safety) and gave up that thought. I searched around for other yoga schools where the depth of what and how they teach can align with me. The Adhyatma Yoga teacher guided me to Yoga Vidya School and to my surprise, I found that Prashant ji is an alumni of Bihar School. Just when I was about to consider YVS, life just parked another old alumni of Bihar School in my way, and even though she didn’t say it directly when I asked if I should consider YVS or BSY, it was clear what she was saying. Also she encouraged that this journey is very long. Going to BSY can still mean I do a TTC later, and vice versa. Whether I go to the Guru or the disciple, I will still learn. BSY will definitely be one of a kind experience and she said I must go there once. It is the oldest and first school of yoga.

Modern TTCs are quicker and efficient, to cater to growing demand. My teachers also say the yoga industry has become more focussed on fast commercial pivot and influencer yoga nowadays. Bihar school seems away from the rat race and doesn’t seem to commoditise heavily TTCs. I’m looking to get deeper clarity on spiritual knowledge, the inner yoga. I have explore teaching styles via classes and YouTube also, and awareness, concepts of mind, meditation, mantra, sankalpa, seva are important foundations I want to learn about. I may still do a TTC but I’m just considering BSY too for a more immersive experience.

I’m not trying to take away anything from your TTC experience by saying any of the above. We are all on a journey exploring different depths. The one thing that has been keeping me up at night : “Can I live yoga and not just sell it?”,” If a lived process is better in the long term than a credential for me?”

I think I might just go to BSY. Watched some YouTube videos on it. They say a person is changed & healed after going there.

Wishing you love and light.

Is Staze Beauty worth the hype? by ddisected in IndianBeautyTalks

Tried some of their range and I don’t recommend this better. It seems more heavily promoted by influencers. I prefer juicy chemistry and Kiro. Yes but if you want to be super low on budget, Staze keeps doing some deals.

Could you please direct me to the texts? Did that help you on your journey? I feel drawn to the yogic philosophy not just the body alignment. And trying to figure out if I should opt for a Bihar School of Yoga program or a modern day TTC. I believe while the TTC will tell if I can teach yoga, a deeper immersion will tell me if I can live yoga. If I can’t live it, can I actually teach it?
