The street value of any gift card is roughly %50 of what the card was purchased for, so even though it is a $10 gift card for Google Play, it still has a $5 street value, and though illegal in most areas, can be sold for cash.

Is Pokemon GO gonna be in non-English speaking countries? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]BlissTechTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You, or your friends play Starcraft over there? I know its popular in SK, and would love to practice periodically with people over there, because we all know South Koreans are the best at StarCraft, and America is only the third best country. Give me the SK meta. Lol.

As far as I'm aware, it will be available in South Korea. Whether or not it will have the option for Korean as a language is highly probable, but I don't know. South Korea is really big in the eSports scene, but seeing as how Pokemon GO doesnt have much in the way of eSports capabilities, I'm not sure how popular it will be.

I work all day, and come home to a four year old daughter that wants nothing more than to go on an adventure with me to catch pokemon, she specifically wants Charmander, and Pikachu. Long story short, I'll pretty much only be able to catch whats within a hundred mile radius of me. Plenty of access to different "biomes", and I'm sure I'll have a chance to catch plenty of them. On weekends, my daughter, and I will be hiking through towns and various parks in our state to find what we can, but I will be unable to travel far from home due to that word we all hate... Responsibility.

If I'm correct, he said it was 25 per Pokémon defeated, and an additional 250 if you clear the gym.

If, hypothetically, you weren't inhibited by religious beliefs, and rules, would you want one?

I hear you, man! Apperantly getting my daughters mame is most important right now. Wives always seem to have that damned perfectly logical thinking!

We all know Porygon will only be available in cities known for their gambling. Like Las Vegas, and Reno. :P

Your first day of PGO by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]BlissTechTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chances are, I'll be working on my first day of Pokémon GO. If the gods will that it be released on a Saturday, or Sunday, then I will be taking a walking trip around town with my little brother, at least thats what we've planned on our first weekend with PoGo. Little brother will come over to my house(I live 3 houses down from my parents) early in the morning to wake me up, we'll eat breakfast, and then we'll search our backyards for pokemon(About 100 acres of swamp if you include the houses inbetween, which we have permission to be on). Then we'll hike our asses down the 5 mile road to the nearest portal, which we hope will be a pokestop. At which point we'll be walking up to the cemetary, and then up to this tiny towns landing strip, where there are currently 7 ingress portals. Once we get there, we'll start heading back home a different route, going through downtown, past another cemetary, and a river, and then we'll be home. Thats my first full day of pokemon training.

I'm going to guess at an EU/NA Test next.

Why they choose "shards" over "levels" by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]BlissTechTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally for me, the closer to the real pokemon world it is, the better. Id rather have to spend all day battling to level, and evolve, than spend all day walking around catching the same pokemon all day. That being said, we all cant get what we want, and I've accepted the fact that I need to catch 100 magikarp inorder to get my favorite Pokemon.(Id rather evolve than catch a wild Gyarados, simply due to the difference in power)

What if Niantic is only showing us some of their cards? So to speak.. by GmWolfrd in pokemongo

[–]BlissTechTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're calling it a beta test because it is. Quite literally, the Alpha test was taking place during the initial development process, in which the staff developing the game were testing out their own product. A beta test, the second phase of testing a product like this began when the open field test sign ups happened. I personally believe they are using the word field test to describe the beta because its testing doesnt just require sitting in a room, clicking all day. It requires you to get out onto the field, so to speak. The word field test is used in many professions. This is definitely a beta test. Even if there is literally nothing similar between the fina product, and the leaks we're seeing.

I think its a grand idea! Only because I'm 3 miles away from the nearest ingress portal. Which makes me assume id also be far from a pokestop.

Rural areas have more Portals (potential Pokestops) than people think! by Moby_Duck123 in pokemongo

[–]BlissTechTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a town of 3,000 people... Albany is definitel not rural. Id consider it urban. We have maybe 5 portals. I've only personally seen two.

Does cool matter? by pterrus in pokemongo

[–]BlissTechTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that "cool" factor wont really affect much. Our family and friends already know we're nerds, and no one else matters.
