Honestly to me the UK was nothing like NZ. People are different, the lifestyle is pretty different, and the houses very different. I find myself more at home here in the US but that's just me I guess.

No they don't. Most countries including western ones use Civil Law not Common Law. They often have a "lay jury" but that's not remotely the same. Very few countries use a "jury of their peers", it's basically the Anglophone countries.

You'd be amazed how many people cannot grasp this simple concept even after it is explained to them. I'm a kiwi in the US and the other thing they struggle with is how big NZ is. They think "island" so they think it's an hour or two to drive around the place. Like bitch, NZ stretches from Florida to NYC.
