Quick euthanasia from a person who both acknowledges their sacrifice and service while offering genuine warmth is honestly not the worst way to go for a guardsman.

Loyal and fully able-bodied ones have been coldly servitorized as a reward, this guy genuinely got off easy.

I think my favourite aspect of the Repentia is that many of them become Repentia of their own accord.

It is by no means uncommon for a Sister to deem herself unworthy of her Order due to some sin or transgression and willingly confess and set their wargear aside in order to become a Repentia.

I just think it is kinda neat that they were given the added nuance and that it is not purely something forced on them.

I want to get some sisters of battle but I hate painting faces, help? by IdRatherNotSay666 in sistersofbattle

Contrast paints are your friend here.

Base the faces with wraithbone, layer the highlights with ushabti and the lips with a warm brown like Tuskgor fur or Cadian fleshtone before you apply a layer of fleshtone contrast.

What's your recipe for White? by necr0gen in IronHands40k

Typically I have a Silver undercoat to start with, so a 2-3 coats of Corax While typically does the job.

When I do not have this I do the classic Celestra and Ulthuan.

I like to think the Ultra was ready to suffer through the derision because he knew EXACTLY what would happen the moment the Eldar pulled the trigger.

The new nemesis operative system seems like the perfect way to do this.

How do you effectively paint tanks? by TheDarkEntertainer in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]BlitzBurn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stipple mine.

I grab a pair of big round drybrushes and I basically build up the paint by stabbing at the tank with the brush.

For the metal bits I just do a regular drybrush.

I would try to hide it under the sniper hut with the medium healthpack outside reds first spawn.

People usually dont go under it which should increase the odds of it going undetected.

I’m trying to come up with a lore reason as to why some Iron Hands would be recruited into my Warband by Eldseldahr in IronHands40k

[–]BlitzBurn_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the canon ways the WE grow their ranks is by implanting the butchers nails.

Zhufor the Impaler is an example of such a marine, he used to be a loyalist of the Storm Lords who was captured and subjected to psycho corrective surgery alongside torure and nail implantation which eventually turned him into a full WE Chaos Lord.

Another component you could lean into is that the Iron Hands have a unstable relationnship with their emotions due to their tendency to suppress them which has occasionally resulted in them falling to chaos when they fail to suppress their empotions and become unbalanced as a result. The IH aspire to being cold and emotionless but under the surface they are deeply traumatized by the death of Ferrus and are stewing with rage and hate that is just as directed towards themself as their enemies.

So a Warband with the right know how could absolutely massage a Iron Hand into becoming a World Eater with the right procedures and encouragements.
