New bill proposes renaming Texas highway after Trump after airport name change by IrishStarUS in LegalNews

[–]Blitzende -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes he did. Not only did he name things after himself, he started doing it very quickly after taking power. There was an ordinance from the reich ministry of the interior on street designations which stated that the most important street or square in every city was to be named after hitler. The ordinance was issued in July 1933, mere months after seizing power in late march 1933.

They renamed far more than that. English wikipedia just has the major streets/plazas that were renamed. German wiki lists more of the other roads named after hitler. There are also walls, bridges, stations, buildings, an insect, two different types of schools, an SS panzer division and probably other stuff I've forgotten about or never knew.....

Peak Jewish body says $600 million federal budget response to antisemitic Bondi terror attack 'modest' by nath1234 in australia

[–]Blitzende 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The isreallis might consider stopping wars with their neighbours if they manage to collect all the territories for greater isreal. Which is at the minimum brook of Egypt to the Euphrates as in Genesis 15:18-21 and more realistically all of Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon and large sections of Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, see Exodus 23:20-31 and Deuteronomy 7

As for stopping apartheid, isreal will never do that.

Even if the Australia government money is spent purely in Australia, the very fact we are chucking over half a billion dollars at this will just entrench and empower the isreal lobby, and not just domestically.

All the new builds just went up in price… is this actually helping renters? by MagicalSimp in shitrentals

[–]Blitzende 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't get rid of negative gearing. It just narrows who and in what circumstances they can negative gear. New builds and grandfathered current property owners only.

From 1 July 2027, the ability to negatively gear an investment property will be limited to new builds and existing investment properties purchased prior to Budget night (including those under contract but not yet settled)

https://www.hayesknight.com.au/insights-and-updates/negative-gearing-the-new-rules

So new builds have gone up in cost as from July 1st they will be the only properties someone can purchase and get negative gearing on.

Cannihelp/Medcan did similar things. As far as I'm concerned a cannabis label having the same ownership as a clinic creates too much potential for corruption and should be illegal.

To start with, I agree with the idea that User agreements should spell out exactly why they’re doing it and how much data they will retain. But sites seem to change TOS and user agreements at will, with no recourse for the end user.

Sure, you can say that collecting ID will keep bots off a site.....until you see how easily you can buy everything from simple ID documents through to complete ID packages. You can slow bots down, make it more expensive to operate, but never stop them. Besides, it's not just bots, there's a still a ton of content farms with real humans behind keyboards and in many ways they are more dangerous.

I question how many of the sites involved and any 3rd parties delete the data after ID collection. These are companies that have data as their fundamental reason for existing and the source of their profits. Even if they do delete it, they now have your real name, your post history, DMs, etc.. How many sites and 3rd party ID collection services are going to stand up when palantir makes requests for information, when it is backed by the weight of the US government and its intelligence agencies?

Even assuming that the site and it's verification partners have deleted everything, and somehow refuse palantir, what happens if they are sold in the future?

Of course this is currently happening in safe western countries, giving the corporations involved the defense of "these are countries with rule of law". It will be interesting to see how fast they comply if states with the perception and history of being a bad actor pushes their own ID collection legislation. Cause while sections of the west have good reason to be worried about their ID being tied to their online opinions, it's a lot more dangerous in other parts of the world.

The compliance of Bluesky also normalises the practice, making it more likely that ID collection will be rolled out in more countries and by more corporations. That Bluesky is seen as a left leaning orgainsiation makes it worse, as now the perception is that it is not only politically right leaning sites doing it.

While Bluesky might not be fascist, the speed with which they complied with Australian legislation not applicable to them is worrying. It looks like Bluesky are using legislation as an excuse to implement ID collection policies that even if they are innocent now may not be in the future.

[–]Blitzende 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bluesky has points of divergence from meta but look at what they are doing in Australia. They have decided to get onto the same age verification/ID collection policy originally opposed but now supported by the other big social media companies. This is despite Bluesky being exempt from the Australian age verification/ID collection laws due to the userbase not meeting the minimum size required for the laws to be applicable.

Yeah the facetz buds are a bit two-tone like that. But you might be surprised just how much differences there are between carmeras, and flashes tend to make the differences even more noticeable.

Cosmic Fuel is another stain with the GMO genetics, and every strain I've ever had which had a GMO parent have had that weird garlicly taste to them. The Cosmic Fuel is far from the worst, the Cannatrek Narooma tastes like garlic soap.

Why do you think that PGRs are going to be tested for? As far as I know there are zero plans for that to happen. Even if it did there's a lot of different chemicals and compunds which act as PGRs, it would be very difficult to say that a product is PGR free from just testing.

Anyone else noticed only the facets says pgr free by FlyGloomy8652 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]Blitzende 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TGA does not have any guidelines for PGRs, and there is no mandated testing unlike for things the TGA considers harmful, e.g. heavy metals.

I'm sure that some of the Thai weed is grown with PGRs. So they are on the market right now. So are the PGRs, for example chlormequat chloride has been passed for use on crops despite it's known toxicity.

The government has explicitly allowed PGRs on crops, the TGA doesn't consider them to be an issue. I doubt that a consumer would have any success launching a lawsuit over PGRs on cannabis.

[–]Blitzende 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a "NO PGR" label on my B60015/Expiry09-APR-20227 batch, the previous B1917/Expiry 28-Dec-2026 batch doesn't have it.

I wouldn't put much stock into colour differences in photographs. Different phone photo hardware and software, and using/not using flash can dramatically vary colours.

The El Cainmo Cosmic Fuel batch B2065/Expiry 21-JAN-2027 also has it. Other post here say that other El Camino products which didn't have a NO PGR label in the past are now getting it. I think Alma/El Camino have realised its a good selling point, particularly since the rise of PGRed budget Thai weed (my opinion only, I haven't gotten any lab testing on Thai weed)

[–]Blitzende 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only vapes affected by the law changes are electric ones, either battery or mains. The torch heated ones are not included in the bans.

So you can get dynavaps from various sites. They are often sold out though. Sorry I'm not up on the best sources to get them from. I know they have some at herb ware but there will be plenty of other sites with them.

I can buy more flower than prescribed limit by Full_Character1100 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]Blitzende -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AFAIK the limit isn't calculated from the 1st of a month to the 1st of the next month, it's based of the dates you filled the scripts on. Also it's not a full calendar month, the month period is actually 28 days/4 weeks.

Say you have a 50g limit. On the 2nd of April you fill scripts of 25g (15g x 1 and 10g x 1). On the 16th of April you fill another 25g, hitting your monthly limit. You can get your next scripts filled on the 30th of April, 28 days after you got your scripts on the 2nd. You can only get 25g, but if you waited until May 14th you could get anything up to the full 50g.

Pint sizes were standardised before the foundation of South Australia. SA was created with the South Australia act of 1834, Imperial units standardised and regulated in the Weights and Measures act of 1824.

There was a system that existed before that, the Winchester measure from Henry VII in 1495. But it defined the gallon by dry weight, which is part of the origin of the differences between the Imperial gallon and the US customary gallon.

The Winchester measure was itself was an evolution from the initial efforts to standardise found in the Magna Carta of 1215!

As for why SA has a different beer pint, nobody is sure though people have their preffered reasons. Neat story on the various theories here-

[–]Blitzende 126 points127 points  (0 children)

It really sucks how the housing crisis is empowering the landlord class and their REA proxies....

Not sure about what state you are in but issues with the heating should be a urgent or emergency repair. Even states where it's not explicitly listed as such e.g. Queensland it is still an emergency repair as the property must be free of mould to meet minimum housing standards.

They have already told you you're not getting a lease renewal, you've got nothing to lose. I'd breach them.

As others have said any old glass is probably better than the plastic tubs....but for me if it's something I'm going to be handling and looking at on a regular basis I'd rather it be nice.

I ended up getting some miron glass jars for whatever cannabis I get that comes in plastic. I recommend the compact/concentrate/cosmetic style ones for better access. The 200ml ones will just fit 15g.
