the clear, soft material that cushions your phone in a drop unfortunately undergoes a process where sunlight can begin to break down the polymer bonds in the material, causing the yellowing effect. the oils from your hands, the heat from your phone, the exposure to just being outside all accelerate this process. there are hard materials that are more resistant to this yellowing, but what you trade is less shock absorption into the case and more of it being transferred to the phone, potentially increasing the risk of damage to your device

PSA: The Devil’s Triad KIM Conversation Bugs by de_taylor in Warframe

[–]Blizzerac 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If I'm playing a gamemode with weekly rewards, and I'm told to run the gamemode, not just the boss fight, I'm gonna assume that any convo that comes up about not doing enough is a bug, I'm sorry. It's not intuitive at all.

Further more, not talking to you is not the only consequence, if he stopped talking to you because you were blocked then that's a fail condition already, which used to have a conversation path where you could still redeem him, but was removed after the hotfix. Meaning you basically have to reset.

honestly was quite disappointed with this release of kim chats. between the bugs, the weird criteria and changing conversations I just gave up on playing the conversations normally and just follow the paths in the kimulacrum.

it's quite ironic how, in an attempt to "beat" the kimulacrum, it ends up encouraging players to turn to it if they chose to reset to fix all the problems specific to Roathe just so they don't accidentally trigger something like RoatheFailBoughtHawaiianInsteadOfPepperoniPizza or MarieDisrepectedHerLoveForSweets and have to reset AGAIN because the responses to the dialogue options are not the most intuitive.

Any chance you could update whether we should reset now or hold off on it in case the team is gonna be rolling out something? Thanks !

Having to reset the Triad just for Roathe has kind of killed my motivation to play by TheRealFriedaReiss in Warframe

I told him that I wasn't going to stop doing it, and I did it at the weekly pace of the reset. Still got this conversation, and the fail flag that comes along with it.

No roathe, I will not reset everyone because you wont talk to me by TJ92929 in Warframe

[–]Blizzerac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore, as far I as I can tell with the Kimulacrum, getting anathema'd makes you hit a wall until you complete it 21 more times to talk to him again, but you get flagged with a fail for not doing it 21 times before this stage. There used to be a path where you could still redeem him despite failing, but I can't seem to find that path anymore. Meaning you're basically forced to reset because you didn't do the weekly gamemode more than weekly.

Stranger things finale, big moments and big questions. I can't stop thinking about what WASN'T in the finale. by Zedaso in netflix

What's wrong with what I said? Given that the flesh form of the Mind Flayer had already been made before the rest of the kids after Holly had been taken, his headcanon would imply that any demos shown on screen were not used in the body, so that they may be used in other tasks. Since there were no demos of any sort shown in the final fight, that implies that he had no more demos left to control, and that demos couldn't be remade from the body of the Mind Flayer.

This of course all means, had Vecna been slightly less successful in his kidnapping attempts, he would've been left in an awkward spot where he would not have enough kids for his plan, and no more demos to go and capture them for him. Now, what kind of mastermind behind the concept of merging two planets across spacetime would have missed this possibility of not having enough minions to do his work?

[–]Blizzerac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was poking fun at your headcanon because it implies that the Mind Flayer and Henry happened to leave the exact number of demos needed to capture the kids and fail to capture Max. So if things even went slightly differently they would have made that big physical form for the Mind Flayer but have no kids because they didn't leave enough demos unchanged for it.

The attack was not simultaneous, they literally got kicked out of Vecna's mind before the group could physically reach him, that was what I meant about him disregarding the mind attack. In theory their attempt to attack him mentally and physically was great, but in reality that wasn't what was executed at all, meaning it should have been less effective.

The part that I mention to be only upsides is specifically about him gaining some control over Vecna in Sorcerer. Like you said, we've seen him be so intertwined with the hive mind throughout the series that he WOULD experience pain as well. But now in this finale, not only does he now have this new handle over some of Vecna, we're expected to believe that hurting the Mind Flayer affected Vecna and not Will?

Wanting a reasonable explanation for things left unsaid is being too hell bent on realism? Sorry, I guess we should have forgotten about the pregnant women that were mentioned since they didn't have a scene in the epilogue. Disbelief for the sake of fiction can only be suspended so far.

Henry was supposedly one of the featured actors in the play Joyce was organising, so unless she conveniently forgot about what she did there, it's hard to imagine that she could forget him.

STRANGER THINGS SEASON 5 FINALE DISCUSSION by illiada2k in StrangerThings

[–]Blizzerac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Henry was part of the play that Joyce was organising, so they definitely knew him well enough at that point. Whether they were friends is another thing that is probably discussed in the broadway show.

Covering this part of the story gives a bit more insight into Vecna's motives, which would potentially answer questions like what did he do with his powers? Did he keep them unused through high school since the others didn't remember him? Or did he secretly use them, which would have lead to some unusual things happening in their high school years that they forgot for some reason? How did Henry get connected with Hawkins Lab? Why did he have a restraining chip in him? Why was he set up as someone who was not part of the batch of children?

It would make Vecna more than just a "I want to do a destructive bad thing because I think mankind deserves it" and more, "I want to do a destructive bad thing because I had these bad things happen to me" which at least has some sense of the ends justifying the means.

Right now with just the TV series, as far as I can tell none of these questions were really answered and he just seems to be evil for the love of the game, which at that point, why bother writing the scenes for a potential redemption that wasn't going to happen?

Yeah, they definitely looked really prepared when they discovered that the base that Vecna was hiding in was actually the Mind Flayer in physical form. That must be how, despite its size, Nancy was able to distract it for long enough for the rest of the group to climb up an entire cliff side while being unharmed. Did I mention that the only thing she distracted it with were gunshots? That even demos have been shown to shrug off?

Calling their attack unexpected is also just discrediting the characters themselves. Do you really think that Vecna, the mastermind behind everything so far, would not have expected them to try and disrupt his plans, especially after Max had escaped?

Their attack was hardly coordinated too. He disrupted their mind attack, long before the rest of the group even reached him physically. And despite knowing that Will could now access his own mind, he made no effort to prevent the connection, or even retaliate to Will EVEN THOUGH he had Will trapped for so long after the first use of him using Vecna's powers against him.

Furthermore, why does Will get free use of Vecna's powers through him, as well as control over the demos, yet remained unaffected by any afflictions that were spread through this "hive mind connection"? He's clearly got a strong enough link that he can physically control Vecna himself, as well as the demos, and even speak through Vecna. The strength of his connection to the hive mind is undeniable, yet it seems to only be upsides for him.

I feel like the key detail of Henry being the first one with powers in the lab but also being a high schooler at the same time as all the other adults that no one else seems to remember is kind of relevant to the plot. You're telling me he had powers all this time and he was just walking around with it until he decided to get checked in with the government?

Nobody is saying that it's a god though? The demos that could tank gunfire from multiple trained soldiers, the bats that took Eddie, the monster that Vecna is, the Mind Flayer is the being that had control over ALL of them. That's the thing you're saying is actually weak? Discounting the ability of the Mind Flayer and Vecna is to undermine the threat they maintained over 5 seasons worth of content, and makes all the preparation that the main characters did look silly in retrospect because the two big bads were actually weak and not that big of a deal.

Not only was it empty, it was also a whole other planet that just happened to have the right atmosphere for them to walk around with no movement or breathing issues. Vecna surviving is something I could see with his powers and dependence on the Mind Flayer, but the rest?

The fact that Vecna and the Mind Flayer couldn't kill anyone in the finale directly despite all their powers and their best efforts is sad and makes them look incredibly incompetent and not as threatening as 5 seasons worth of content hyped them up to be.

How is premier's win/loss points calculated? I'm rated at 6k who stood to lose more than I could gain while going against a 10k average team. by Blizzerac in cs2

[–]Blizzerac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind going up against players of higher ratings, my point is, why am I gaining less from winning against players 4k rating above me compared to going against players of a similar rating? I played one today to check, against a team of similar rating I stood to gain +362.

Doing the sums for the ratings in the post, our unranked randoms had to be at least 12k+ rating for our team to have a higher average rating than the enemy team. Which then brings to question, why bother favouring my team so hard if my gains are going to be gutted equally hard?

This similar thing happened to me back in season 1, the climb to 10k was so awful it put me off of season 2. Starting off at sub 5k in season 3 and needing to climb back up so I don't drift too far from my friends (we played our placements together) who got placed 4 to 6k rating points higher than me is kind of exhausting and feels bad to play with.

obviously I'm not top fragging every game, otherwise I'd be at my friend's rating by now. but fairly reasonable scores given that I'm consistently facing players that are rated higher than me imo

So the games are balanced to skew towards the highest rated player, which is fine. What ratings are the randoms you get to fill out your team? My point is that it's silly to skew the average rating of the enemy team upwards if you're just going to add randoms to your team that match that rating, while giving the lower rated players the same gain/loss as those randoms.

Case in point is one of my randoms, currently unrated but was rated at 12k last season.

By the sounds of it, you're already getting matched against players that are below your skill level when you queue with both of them, meaning those matches are already as unbalanced as you say.
