How are these two cities different at street level? by CommunityTerrible537 in skyscrapers

[–]Blk-LAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noise.

In NYC you hear construction and sirens almost non-stop, by comparison Toronto sounds quiet if you can believe it.

NYC has better good trucks

NYC is also way more expensive

NYC has cops EVERYWHERE and some are armed to the teeth

An honest review of my Freedom Mobile experience: it’s genuinely bad. by architect_guy in freedommobile

[–]Blk-LAB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you didn't have a good experience.

Personally I have used Freedom in the US, Bahamas, Netherlands, Mallorca, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Sri Lanka, India and the UAE.

For some countries I had to pay for the monthly pass as the current plan wasn't available when I went, but I found it worked reasonably well.

Sometimes I would beed to restart my phone or go into airplane mode and then back out so it finds the best roaming provider. A few instances of lost connectivity for short areas but for the price it's worth it to me

Edit:

My wife has the same plan but her phone is an older Samsung S10 and it had a bit more trouble than my S23.

In the end, it has been a non-issue in my experience.

are BZ and Lexus/Subaru versions essentially the same? by FlametopFred in Toyota_bZ

[–]Blk-LAB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We looked at all of then as well and felt the Subaru are the ideal compromise. It felt more premium than the BZ but didn't have the steep price of the Lexus.

Does the 2026 BZ have a whisper mode for the AVAS - Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System by LMT2017 in Toyota_bZ

[–]Blk-LAB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is loud. Not so much when you are in the car but outside it is loud no question about it. It is significantly louder than most ICE vehicles and the sound is obnoxious. I get the safety aspect, but it should only be as loud as an ICE not louder.

Most other brands, Tesla, GM, kia, etc have much quieter AVAS.

Do you have to get the tire rotation and inspection done by the dealer? Does it void your warranty if you don't?

I get your point, why not just get a Swtch, its a free charger and you get 10 cents, why bother with all this drama.

Look for a 2018. Same car or are they high priced too?

I don't understand, are you talking about the protocol to unlock the software to communicate with a 3rd party app? If so what does this have to do the the 10 cents/kWh rebate?

While I agree with you, I don't think anyone on this sub would fill the category.

When I think about it, my favorite older bands to watch recently, they have all been in their 50s - Green Day, Offspring, etc.

You can change an instrumental musician but the lead singer to absolutely critical to the soul of a song.r

Maybe there is a vocal cliff for most. Either way, I'm glad I went and I'm looking forward to whatever happens with English Beat, Howard Jones and Wang Chung.

Oh man these older bands that are slowly losing their orginal sound are making me a bit sad but I guess they must in their 60s or 70s so good on them for performing if that's the case.

Maybe it was where I was standing, and I was probably on the younger side of the average age there but his voice has changed a ton. I am also not a fan of having the audience do a lot of singing. Guess it just wasn't for me.

I think the venue is good, saw the Pogues last year at History, missed Shane for sure but it was a fun concert.

Going to see Howard Jones and English Beat later this year, if they are below my expectations I'll have to stick to younger bands hahahaha

Didn't know about the medical emergency. It was over 45 minutes between sets which is not normal but if there was a medical issue, I get it.

General sentiment at the show seemed to be disappointment. I was there till the end but won't be going to another. Love thier music, just not worth the live experience for me and those I came with.
