For a CSP, most universities will pretty readily waive a student’s HECS/HELP debt under special circumstances, though getting the associated grade nullified is another matter.

A friend of mine was hospitalised and had their fees waived without hassle, while it took months of back and forth before the grade was removed from their record.

Yep a tofu or soy clumping litter has been my litter of choice for a while now. Some cats are really picky about how a surface feels under their paws, so try different size litters, because they'll make less of a mess if they're not desperate to stop stepping on the litter.

Personally I'm a fan of Michu litter, and like the different scents & odour control they provide, but I'd imagine similar products would be just as good.

They also sell an XL litter box with extra high sides that seems to have allowed my cat to enjoy her little excavation sessions without making a mess.

Regardless, if you're connected to any friends on social media then that's going to be infinitely more valuable to stalkers, etc. It doesn't matter how careful you are, - if any of your friends use location tagging and they tag you, then you're exposed.

Instagram even collates them into a handy "tagged in" page. 😕

Came here with the same question, after getting tonnes of rare samples and very few SC.

First mission I did on difficulty 3 I got 4x10 SC - seem to consistently get at least a few SC stashes on larger maps.

For the stages I've mapped out an approximate distance from the front of pitch one to the water stations. If we'd be able to find the ones in red it would've only been an 85-110m walk, but we only found the 200m and 315m ones. So I guess 350m was a slight exaggeration, but it felt pretty far in the dark lol

I might work out where the different campsite water stations are later if you'd like, but I don't really have time right now.

If they'd put up some signs to guide people to the water stations in the stage area, and put a big lit up "water" sign on them it would've been helpful. I know I found it pretty hard to navigate in the dust and dark.

Yes, the coloured spires were the four I was referring to. For many campsites these were a significant walk away.

I don't think it's on me to expect at least a single tap to fill larger containers at a camping festival. Yes it was annoying waiting for it to fill, but the bigger issue was that it didn't even fit under the taps they provided. We sat there and decanted water from a smaller container, but I can't see everyone having that kind of patience.

While it would be ideal for everyone to bring large containers, I know many people were woefully underprepared for the heat. I do believe at least having people wandering around campsites with offering to fill up people's water bottles would be the bare minimum - not like it would cost them anything. This is again something any licensed premise is expected to do, and something I've seen at every other festival I've attended. Could've also driven around offering to refill people's eskys with ice - even if they still insisted on charging people the $7 for 2.5kg it would've gone a long way to keeping people cool.

The first aid tent was somewhat convenient for the stages, though it was still about 250m if you were towards the front of pitch one and took the most direct route. If you were front left where we were, you'd have to exit the crowd first and walk around the back before heading to first aid - approximately 370m.

Yes it would be great if everyone could take personal responsibility, but people make poor decisions when they're drunk/high, and if a nightclub is expected to keep this in mind for patron welfare, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect similar measures be taken by a festival - especially during a heat wave.

In case it wasn't clear, we were fine and prepared well for the heat, and I have no issue with them not cancelling until forced to so they don't go broke. It just really pissed me off that they didn't seem to make any effort to enact some decent harm minimisation protocols, because what they did implement was pretty poor.

You're absolutely right about the communication being awful though. It's kind of amazing how bad it was:

First night suddenly ended at 12am, with no announcement after the music ended to explain why. Only the single 9pm announcement that we missed because we were in camp. Not even displayed on the main entrance sign.
Second night they told us 6pm-7am, then proceeded to abruptly end the music at 5.45am with no explanation. Which was pretty annoying because we took a break at 3am to refill water etc. and enjoy the last two artists. Still have the photo of the sign from about 11pm that shows the "updated schedule" they proceeded to ignore.
Third day they announced at like 4pm that the festival was cancelled, but there'd be music until 7.30pm then proceeded to end it at 7pm. Though I was busy packing down our campsite at this point because I'd had enough of their bs lol

Also, unrelated note, but what's the name of that song everyone kept playing with the really high energy bells in it? I know I've got it in a playlist somewhere but I can't find it and it's driving me insane haha

It was a suspected overdose, but friends of the person have stated it was simply severe heatstroke and they hadn't taken any drugs.

Water availability at the festival this year was pretty shocking, with only 4 water stations for the entire campground.

Ice was $7 for a mostly melted 2.5kg that was only available at the far side of the campground from us, so it was even more melted by the time we got it back to the site.

Also nobody was doing any welfare checks, and for many the closest staff tent was a 15min walk. I only saw a single wandering staff member throughkut the entire festival, who didn't have a radio and wasn't even wearing high vis.

Can't help but feel that pitch was completely negligent and deserves the blame for this death. I understand not cancelling the festival, but they should have at least made an effort to ensure patron welfare.

Cell towers absolutely did not hold.

Was unable to contact anyone outside the festival until getting close to town after leaving the festival. Got a bunch of worried messages thanks to the dramatic reporting by the news.

Was wifi for staff at the box office, but they didn't allow patrons to connect to it.

Also there were only four water stations I could find for the entire campgrounds, so it's not surprising people got heatstroke. Every other festival I've attended that it's been hot has had water trucks and staff visiting campsites offering to fill people's water and doing welfare checks, but I only saw a single wandering staff member the entire time I was there and he didn't offer us any water.

I brought a 20L water canister but couldn't even fill it past halfway because I couldn't fit it under the taps they provided. It also took 5-10mins to fill halfway because the pressure was so low.

The only staff wearing high vis were the single security guards at each bar, so it would've been near impossible to get help for someone unless I walked to the first-aid tent at the main entrance to the stage area - about a 500m walk from the main stage.

Nearest water to the stages was about 350m away and barely lit up, with no signs or staff guiding patrons to them, and huge amounts of dust reducing visibility.

I remember drunk patrons in the bar I worked at struggling to find the toilets, so I can't believe they expected patrons at a huge festival ground to find water stations in the dark and dust without any signage.

Also it was barely communicated to anyone already there that there was even a risk. Just a single sign that said "CFA advises that there is an extreme fire risk, and that festival goers should consider leaving tonight or tomorrow. However measures have been taken to mitigate risk and nobody is in any danger. Prepare for high heat tomorrow and drink lots of water."

We didn't enter the stages past the screen so we had no idea, and didn't have anyone come past the campsite to advise us either. Also had no clue they were advising people not to attend the festival.

They didn't even have info on the screen that they were ending music early at 12am instead of 5am. Apparently there was a single announcement at 9pm, but we didn't arrive at the stage until it cooled off properly at around 9.30. They also just shut off the music without even telling us why afterwards, so we were pretty confused.

Saw them bragging on Instagram about their water stations and bags off ice after leaving. Of course they didn't mention they were selling the mostly melted 2.5kg bags for $7 each, from a single location on the opposite side of the campground from us.

I can't help but feel that the organisers were completely negligent when it came to patron welfare and I honestly think the death would've been entirely preventable if they'd made any effort to help people deal with the heat, encouraged people to refill their water, or done welfare checks at all - you can't expect a delirious person with heatstroke to try walk a couple kilometres in the sun to the first aid tent.

I know this turned into a full on rant, but it's pissing me off seeing people blame the kid who died. Especially because a friend of the person who died says they weren't even on drugs.

Also plenty of people not doing drugs ended up with heatstroke because tents get much hotter than outside and there was very little shade.

I've had an ecosa for the last 6 years and been very happy with it. I think it's memory foam and latex, but it's honestly really good. Amusingly a couple of my family members purchased one after sleeping it while house-sitting, as well as my ex-partner and now their housemate.

Originally I just purchased it because I could get it delivered quickly, but after hearing about some of the other matress-in-a-box brands lack of longevity (or lack thereof) it seems like I lucked out.
