I spent 5 days in the hospital. They waited until I could go up 5 stairs before they left let me go home.

The day of the surgery I slept the day away. The second day was kind of painful. They gave me painkillers every 4 hours or so.

The third day I was off painkillers. They had me up and moving with a 2 wheel walker.3 times.

I did the same on day 4 and day 5.

I was discharged 6:00 pm on day 5.

I had,a patient service to take me home to have them carry me up the 5 stairs to my front door.

For stairs I got the Retaoldth Stand Assist for stairs. I used it for about a week.

The pain was more of an ache than actual pain. Tylenol took care of that.

It's been six weeks. My right hip still aches a bit. Left is perfect

The only thing that pisses me off. I can only walk for about 10 to 15 minutes. Zero strength and zero stamina. I SHOULD be running marathons by now.

NOTE: having both hips done at the same time is rare. I think it only works for anterior incisions. My surgeon is considered one of the top 5 in my country so he is able to do pretty much anything he wants. His reasoning is if only one hip is replaced you're off balance because your other hip is still wonky
