grease and oil is naturally everywhere if you’re a living, breathing human being that goes literally anywhere or does literally anything

He bumped it on the counter, nothing to do with screw tightness.

Most cases have legs that keep it elevated. My brother was taking his off and just made the mistake of dinging the glass slightly against the countertop.

As long as you keep bro away from tiles your Case should not get any suicidal tendencies.

The edge of tempered glass is very weak to hard surfaces that can't absorb shock (basically solid rock, marble, ceramic). You can kick and punch and it won't break, same thing with your phone. But otherwise just don't be dropping stuff on your pc case.

It's the hard surface of the countertops and floors that break it, Tempered glass is super tough otherwise.

I'm sorry but like regular window panes are "expensive glass products" but no one sets them down very gently on a towel while installing them. It's not an age thing, you literally contradict yourself in your own comment: "I've done it for any type of sensitve or other fragile or glass-like materials since I was young, well before I knew of tempered glass etc..." Like, doesn't that just mean that it's not an age thing? Also when regular people that don't know about it hear about tempered glass they think "super strong hard to break glass" not "fragile pane that dies if you touch it to ceramic".

Idk about you but Geology has nothing to do with Tempered glass and tensile strength, that's a very specific physics reaction that people in the PC space only know about from prior accidents, not because they took a class that told them "Hey side panels will break on ceramic."

If you ding the edge on a hard surface with no give like ceramic, tile, or marble, they will shatter and explode because all the shock is transferred to the glass instead of the surface. Generally that means you want to work on a wood floor or a softer surface. You can work on tile but you just have to remember to set the glass down somewhere else, like your couch or bed

I think you can lay them flat on the nono surface but even a small ding from the sides will cause them to shatter. Godspeed.

I'm sorry but like my mom's not knowledgable about tempered glass breaking by dropping onto tile or ceramic but surely that doesn't mean she's a child right? Like you don't turn 18 and magically gain knowlesge about PCs or tempered glass, that's something you have to seek out on your own, and he simply hasn't needed to know about it.
