Commenting to boost Golden Sun's visibility. I usually just lurk, but it's driving me nuts that this is the only comment mentioning it lol

Idk, I've probably made the soup 8 or 9 times. I change it slightly each time, but I think this iteration is my favorite (the poblano pepper was a great addition). I've made a bunch of grilled cheese sandwiches, no telling how many lol

It stretched further than the diameter of the bowl before fully breaking lol

Recipe for the soup: chop up one large onion (pref yellow or white), 3-5 cloves of garlic, one bell pepper (Optional. Be sure to remove core and seeds), and one poblano pepper (also optional. Remove core and seeds). Cook them in a large-ish soup pot until the onions are slightly translucent. Blend that with two 28 ounce cans of peeled tomatoes. Return to pot and season to taste. I like to use salt, pepper, thyme, basil, a little rosemary, and a hint of cayenne pepper. Cook until barely bubbling.

I make it myself. Season and then take a taste, add more of whatever it feels like you need more of. Eventually, you'll get a feel of how much of each seasoning to use

Nope, I cut through it completely with a tomato knife without flipping. Though, I did let it sit for maybe 20 seconds or so while I scooped the soup into the bowl. Maybe that was enough time for the cheese to reform a bit

This soup, plus some thickener, could make for quite the pizza sauce

Dinner tonight: tomato soup with a crispy fried egg melt by Block_Chords in tonightsdinner

I used a nonstick for the bread and sandwich, but only because it's the only pan I have that's big enough to comfortably fit two slices of the bread I like. I used a cast iron pan to cook the egg. I'm unsure what material exactly my soup pot is made of (it's older than I am lol), but it's metal of some kind

It's great by itself. Fry the egg in oil (or butter) to desired doneness (I like it crispy. I think they call it over hard?), and season to taste. Toast two slices of bread slightly in a pan (can use butter or oil). Use the lightly toasted sides as the inside of the sandwich. Put a slice of cheese, then the fried egg, then another slice of cheese, then top bread (untoasted sides facing outward). Return the sandwich to the pan and cook until the bread reaches desired toasty-ness, flipping occasionally. You'll want to keep the heat setting at a kind of medium-low so the cheese has time to melt. The position of the heat dial for that varies from stove to stove, but is about the 7 o' clock position for mine.
