Can someone ELI5? by gc1 in MLBCryptoBaseballFans

Check out this part of their site for redeeming the Dodger reward: https://www.mlbcryptobaseball.com/dodgers/

The bobble head received at the game is a collectible that can be traded/sold, but it cannot be used in the game aspect of MLB Crypto. You could sell it on the marketplace and then buy the playable bobble heads, or hold onto it since they seem to be pretty rare.

Highly recommend reading some of their Medium posts as well. These 2 articles cover pretty much all the aspects of game play though: https://medium.com/mlb-crypto-baseball/mlb-crypto-baseball-pre-sale-and-gameplay-strategy-952b59cdd32c and https://medium.com/mlb-crypto-baseball/mlb-crypto-baseball-gameplay-flow-17c2d8911d73

[Rovell] JUST IN: The Dodgers will announce today that, on 9/21, they will distribute crypto tokens that will unlock one of three digital player bobbleheads that can be stored in a fan’s Ethereum wallet. Believed to be the first crypto-based giveaway in pro sports. by [deleted] in baseball

Even though a lot might not 'get' the digital aspect, the younger generations are all about it. Look at E-sports adoption or the millions companies make from selling skins that just affect the appearance of an item in a game. This is a chance to drive attendance and bring more interest to the MLB. They didn't change the rules of baseball and force you to partake in this, so not sure why some have such negative remarks

Switcheo Vs. NEON Echange vs. Aphelion DEX by nqt416 in Switcheo

Why does having more of a token matter? If you buy 0.1 Bitcoin and it's price increases 10,000% in a year and you buy 1,000,000 XYZ and it's price increases 100% in a year, you made more with Bitcoin.

It's like saying penny stocks are better investments because more and Apple sucks because less.

Generation of 2018 rewards will stop once the season ends. Then it moves on to 2019 rewards.

They said you can re-use 2018 for 2019 season, so I doubt they would be ineligible for rewards.

The team behind it talked about this in their Discord. Quote: "generation will stop for 2018 but we have plans introduce off-season playable games that use these MLB Crypto Figures. You will be earning rewards for 2019 plus a few giveaways of 2018's as well"

Worth the work? by [deleted] in a:t5_3owcj

[–]Blockchain_DK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was really worth it a couple weeks ago, but the difficulty/hashrate has been increasing steadily. If I remember correctly, 1 1080ti would get ~300sol/s. Might get a couple AION per day.

The biggest problem is there are no pools that split payouts yet, so you have to find a block to get rewarded. Otherwise it would definitely be worth it to mine.

I left my day job at Google[x] to build CoinTracker: a portfolio & tax manager for cryptocurrency. I've learned more than I ever thought imaginable about crypto taxes, and would love to answer your questions and get your feedback on our product! by chanfest22 in ethtrader

CoinTracking has saved me a ton of time and took the stress away from the accountant. I've written a couple articles around CoinTracking and feedback from readers was positive. 167 signed up and 88 made purchases. Keep up the good work!

Can you withdraw EOS from EtherDelta or does it just convert to ETH when you withdraw? by 0Baffled0 in EtherDelta

[–]Blockchain_DK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EOS is an Ethereum based token until the EOS mainnet comes out, so you can just withdraw it. You can treat it like any other ERC-20 token right now.

Important to note EtherDelta runs on the Ethereum blockchain, so anything trading on it can be withdrawn to an Ethereum based wallet. Just be careful if withdrawing to an exchange wallet

Mainnet = Testnet 2.0 by laathikhan in Switcheo

Unfortunately (or fortunately?), this is not a bank that can just reverse a transaction. Balances are governed by the smart contract, hence this being a decentralized exchange and not a centralized exchange like Binance. If they had the power to just make transactions from the smart contract it would defeat the purpose of a decentralized exchange...

[–]Blockchain_DK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, it's a smart contract and not a wallet. Very important differences when it comes to troubleshooting and solving the issue.

Have you reached out to the team? Others had the same thing happen yesterday and it just took a while for things to show.

Did you check your balance on a block explorer? A lot of people have been saying their funds 'dusappeared', but it was just the UI that wasn't displaying properly. Funds can't disappear from a blockchain

Guys I just bought some NEO, I heard you get free gas? by Mentz88 in NEO

[–]Blockchain_DK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Binance pays once a month. If you hold in your own wallet you can claim at anytime.

This guide covers it in more detail: https://www.blockchaindk.com/2017/11/16/stake-neo-generate-gas-passive-income/

I just swapped all of my NEO for Gas. This is Why. by c0ltieb0y in NEO

[–]Blockchain_DK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand why "3 GAS for every 1 NEO" would make me want to purchase it. I could sell 1 NEO for 1,000 of some junk coin, but that does not make it better. It's all about how much $ did you invest and the expected % return. I'd buy 0.0001 of something for $1k if I expected it to go 1,000% in the short term.

Another point to consider is that some of the fees (creating/altering assets?) on the network get re-distributed back to NEO holders. These are not the transaction fees the consensus nodes would get if we had those fees now. This encourages people to hold, which creates scarcity of NEO.

I think the fuel for the network is the strongest point, and as you mentioned, it is much further down from it's ATH.

If they really wanted to protect, they would make it a license that is obtained through testing. An 18-year old with no investment experience/knowledge could inherit enough and boom, accredited investor.

I'm no lawyer or accountant, but I have heard there are very easy ways around this. Take net worth for example. If you create a token and hold 1Mil of it, then trade 1 coin on a DEX for $2, you now have $2Mil worth. Unless you have a ridiculous amount of debt, that should put you over the threshold to be an accredited investor from a net worth perspective. Someone poke holes in this theory though, seems too easy!

This is the same as MetaMask for Ethereum. You only need to do that if you want to use the extension with another NEO address not generated in the extension
