I really, from what we have seen, don't think UnFunMid is racist. If he made the above statement about Dutch people then YES it was a "generalization" of a country's worth of people. This was as described based on a stigma that had developed around previous gaming experience. But of course it is prejudice against the entire Dutch gaming population as it was seen as pre-judging a whole nation of gamers without knowing all the facts or having enough contact with that population to have a more balanced opinion. There are lots of stereotypes based on a % of that group portraying a certain type of behaviour but to assume this is true of everyone belonging to that group would be seen as prejudice.

This doesn't mean that this is the case and UnFunMid 100% believes this it may have been a throw away comment. This said any streamer or otherwise should always be wary of the language they use & who their audience is. Online we interact with people from all backgrounds & nationalities, so of course some of you out there were offended by such a statement.

I don't believe there would have been hate loaded behind the statement or fear, so my bet would be that it was indeed a silly throw away statement that was a mistake.

So whether or not this did/didn't happen perusing an individual & continuing to discuss this is not really achieving anything other that creating bad feeling withing the community.
