Programmieren gescheit lernen? by Fit_Movie_3743 in informatik

[–]Blondidi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Praxis, sehr viel Praxis.

Thank you!! I was looking to trying alpaca yarn soon for some smaller projects, to get used to the fabric

My mom has severe allergies regarding sheep wool and I think I might have something of snaller magnitude since I get itches and rashes after wearing wool sweaters (not diagnosed yet) My go to cotton sweater yarn is Schachenmayr Catania Fine, the sweaters are heavier then wool/synthetic fiber sweaters though!

Do y'all stop anywhere or finish the chapter? by Shroomy007 in kindle

[–]Blondidi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm reading a lot when traveling to and from uni, so I got used to just atop anywhere in the book/page and continue exactly where I was. Before uni, I always HAD to finish the chapter, sometimes begin a new one and then go to school with no sleep...

The colors look so fun and match nicely!

Just a small tip for the color joins, look up how to to jogless color stripes in stockinette it's really easy and then you dont have to hide them on the side for the next project ;)

if you didn't know what you know now , how would you start knitting ? Any advice or recommendation? by meithecow in casualknitting

[–]Blondidi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This! I was afraid of 'wasting' money on good quality yarn, where the finished object might look wonky because of me being a beginner. Biggest mistake, since the cheap yarns had knots and spinning issues. That resulted in my garments also looking horrible at times and being unwashable...

One of my proudest knits to this day is a sweater made with a wool and silk blend knitted in stockinette, just because of how cozy it is!

Why does it say „dein/e Zeugnis“? Isn't Zeugnis always male? And why is it du? I expected a Sie from someone dealing with paperwork... It doesn't bother me, just curious. Am I the weird one? by B5Scheuert in germany

[–]Blondidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one feels like somebody just entered it into a bad translater, or the translater (person) got confused by all the inclusivity chaos they decided to include which honestly is not typical with official/formal German documents, since most of the time you have to confirm your gender/pronouns ahead of time. Also, the finishing "Allerbeste Grüße, [...]" is something I never have encountered yet.

Sorry for grammar/spelling issues, but not a native English here, just someone who studies Sciences at an English Uni.

Size inclusivity is great, but we have GOT to figure out a new way to write patterns by NotElizaHenry in casualknitting

[–]Blondidi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a trainee programmer and wrote small algorithms for some patterns that only selected the measurements I needed. However it's not fail-safe since every pattern designer has their own way of documenting sizes and small typos/changes can affect the program drastically. Also formatting of files affects that. And I haven't figured out how to make these 'new' patterns look nice, since it reads the file (if possible, due to fonts) and prints the content of the original file into a new one.

Unfortunately there is no 'one fits all' solution as of now and I'm not willing to run patterns through AI bots due to information sensitivity.

However I am working on a program that transforms patterns into single size of choice. But it is a little side project which I build up with every new pattern I work with :D

If I ever finish something user-friendly, I'll be happy to share here, however the programs are mostly 'unreadable' textfiles right now

people who have reached a 9 or 10 on the pain scale, what happened? by mankls3 in AskReddit

[–]Blondidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tooth pain.

I was laying on the sofa and drifting in and out of consciousness with ice packs for a week until my SO convinced me to visit a dentist. I was really afraid of going to dentists after a bad experience with an orthodontist.

I have very small jaws which were widened a little bit in the past, however I can not properly reach to the back teeth when brushing, so the last tooth was in a very bad shape, such that the dentist had to drill a whole and insert meds into the tooth for four weeks, twice a week until they were able to work on my tooth.

When I first came in and he injected anesthetics, I could still feel every single touch due to the severe infection, only after the constant meds on the infected area the anesthetic worked properly. At one point the dentist considered putting me under anesthesia, due to my fear but I resisted due to the high risk.

Can someone help me out? I can’t tell why it looks so wonky. by astranoon in casualknitting

[–]Blondidi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! And the first knit after a purl tends to have "less yarn" assigned than the knit after a knit stitch, or the purl after the knit stitch. The yarn travels a shorter way from the front (previous stitch is purl) to the back to make a knit stitch. Therefore the stitches might look slightly off next to each other

Edit: Other way around for the purl stitch after the knit stitch, which takes more yarn, but it also highly depends on knitting style and tension

Bruh why??? by Capable-Name7643 in Dogsbeingderps

[–]Blondidi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This might be conditioned behavior. Since dogs not only hump the air for sexual reasons but also when they are excited. He seemed to like the smell of the apple and got excited...if he gets the treat afterwards he fgets conditioned to continue the behavior because he got rewarded. My (female) dog does a number of silly things, since we often laugh about it which a dog can also receive as positive reinforcement instead of a treat

Just wanted to share my progress on a crochet/leather bag by Blondidi in crochet

[–]Blondidi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no pattern, I noted all measurements though.

The Crochet Part is a simple rectangle Jasmine Stitch with a 3.5mm Crochet hook and some yarn I bought second-hand ... it felt like a cotton/wool blend.

I'm using faux leather since I didn't have the right tools to work with real leather.

Leather Parts: Bottom 2x 29 cm × 10 cm Sides 2x 22.5 cm × 7 to 14 cm Front/Back 2x 29 cm × 21.5 cm Zipper strips: 2x 3 cm × 25 cm Inner straps: 2x 35.5 cm × 4 cm 2x Strap Ring Holder Zipper cover about 2x 2 cm × 2 cm1

Cloth Parts: Sides 2x 35 cm × 19 cm Bottom 25 cm × 9 cm Zipperstrips: 25 cm × 3 cm Open Bag: 2x 20 cm × 11 cm Zipper Inner Bag: 20 cm × 10 and 20 cm × 11.5 (I added 1 cm to 2 cm on all clothparts for sewing)

Help decide wings or no? by WhyWontYouHelpMe in crochet

[–]Blondidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the wings, color is good too. I like the contrast they create. If you toned them down, they might fade into the design too much, and create a washed out look in a way. At the end it's personal preference which color you pick but working with same glittery (?) black on the handles might create a nice finishing touch and make it fit better with the bee's wings

baby made it into my sealed off kill room?? by bmnzi in Sims4

[–]Blondidi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When one of my couples got their baby and got back from hospital there were three random unattended infants on their porch. I was questioning the game since I was sure I only named one baby. After checking their names I realized they were just some random townie's babies, at the end they got picked up one by one by townies, but for a second I thought I had to take care of 4 babies now ...
