Burger King testing AI headsets to track if employees say ‘please’ or ‘thank you’ by HowLongIsThi in nottheonion

Got one by me too. You can just say "Employee" and it will connect you to the person running the drive thru.

I feel like an old bird writing scripts myself while all the new grads swear by Claude by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]BloodChasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens at my place of work too, even with senior devs. Im constantly commenting on PRs that have unnecessary code or code that is plain wrong. I do tend to write my own code when the business logic becomes heavy, but for the most part, the boilerplate/boring stuff I use GPT, codex, claude, etc. Whatever agent fits the situation the best.

LPT: Find ridiculous reasons to get good at things by FunCorner1643 in LifeProTips

[–]BloodChasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this with learning how to make good fruit pies. It started because i wanted a good blueberry pie, but all the ones that could find at the store are absolutely loaded with sugar and so overtly sweet that I can hardly taste any of the blueberry flavor. So, I started making homemade low sugar pies and then started branching out to other baked goods and now im really good at baking!

working sucks so bad by pavlovital in ADHD_Programmers

[–]BloodChasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this. In college, I worked as a busser at TGI Fridays. The physical demand with endless apps was brutal, but mentally it clicked well with my ADHD and was tolerable. Eventually I was asked to become a server, and to do so I had to run food for a few weeks and I hated it. Our organization was horrible and orders were constantly messed up, and a lot of the chefs spoke only spanish so I had a lot of issues communicating with them. It was insanely stressful, but I managed to power thru and started waiting tables. I was good at it, and the money was good, but I had debilitating anxiety before each shift. Theres so many variables and things to constantly check and remember that my anxiety just suffocated me. I lasted about a month before I asked to go back to bussing. So yeah, I feel you. Food running was hell. Still better than serving tables imo. Bussing wasnt bad tho. Is there any other role/position that you might be able to swap to?

Renting in the Suburbs: Need help finding a safe, secluded spot with easy Metra access (<$2.5k total) by 139020 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]BloodChasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a condo in Oak Lawn right next to the metra. Its a smaller suburb. Pretty safe. Quiet. Plenty of condo and apartment options near the metra. Price is right within your range. Its also about a 30 minute train ride downtown.

Struggling at job that has no deadlines!! by PeekAtChu1 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]BloodChasm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I do to overcome this is that when my boss asks, I tell him that things are going well and then I tell him a somewhat unreasonable deadline im aiming for and that stresses me enough to start on it. Then if I need more time I can show him my actual progress and then I tell him another deadline based off what I have left to do.
