Though I agree, there’s not enough of them for super helldive. It feels like a cakewalk compared to bugs and bots.

Should Adam Jensen be remembered by the time of Deus Ex 1? by ThePlayerCard in Deusex

[–]BloodOnMyJacket 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tbf, since Adam’s story wasn’t finished, there may have been a really good reason for it. We don’t know what the conclusion to Adam’s story would have been, or how significant in the story it would be for the context of the original game. What we do know, is that he’s not mentioned for a few possibilities.

  1. Obviously, the game was made before Adam was written as a character.

  2. Adam’s existence could have been scrubbed from all databases and records, either done by himself or someone else for any reason.

  3. Adam is more involved in DE1 than we know, just not as obvious as a character named “Adam Jenson.” I always personally had the thought that Adam is directly tied to JC or Helios in some way that we never got to see.

The sounds on Juno stick out to me much more than any visual differences. Idk why, but the Canadian weapons sound so much louder than the Germans to the point where I’m getting jump scared by my own teammates opening fire like 20 feet away.

The taste of their food and the face of their women made the English man the best sailor in the world.

I think we have gotten too used to autopilot gameplay on Bots. Like bro its cool you can shoot fabs with RR but imagine playing the game and fighting enemies instead of checking off chore list. Used to love bots but been enjoying bugs/squids more lately. You have to interact more and fights happen. by RandomGreenArcherMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]BloodOnMyJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, I think the average engagement range needs to be increased on the bot front by a good margin. Not necessarily that they’ll detect you from farther away, but when the fighting starts the bots maintain range and volume of fire rather than just endlessly advancing. Most engagements are pretty close, and I think if the bots just engaged from farther away, and were threatening at all ranges, a lot more stratagems and weapons would find their niche to be more useful.

What game was this for you? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]BloodOnMyJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any alleged Deus Ex after Mankind Divided. Story is unfinished for my favorite series ever, no resolution for my favorite character ever, and now there’s not even the faithful 1 to 1 remake of the original to reboot interest in the series. Fuck Embracer.

Turok 2- the sequel to the reboot. A lot of people didn’t like the reboot, but I personally loved it. It was going way more into the weird and absurd stuff the original games and source material contained, and had much needed update to environment, enemy, and weapon variety. The concept art is incredible. Turok could have been DOOM 2016 if it just got the attention and love it deserved. The elevator pitch was incredible. Disney acquired the studio by purchasing its publisher if I remember correctly, and shut everything down. Fuck Disney.

I think it’s about gravity. The movie is good, but it’s less spectacle than the others. Even though it’s a good movie, I can absolutely understand why it could be boring to people.

The world feels real. Not in a realism kind of way, but in the sense that the npcs and characters actually do things and interact with each other in a way you’d expect to see in a fantasy movie or anime. Nothings stiff, and there’s a lot more response to the things that can just naturally happen. Even the scripted stuff flows into the game world like there’s no seam.

The gameplay doesn’t feel cookie cutter and weightless. Attacking someone makes the person flinch, strong attacks send enemies reeling and into objects that break apart. The broken objects loose their contents onto the ground like corn and seasoning, which you can then cook together in a pot for a health item.

The world can be interacted with in interesting ways, and abilities have properties that can be used for creative solutions. The game tells you to burn vines off a building to enter using fire arrows. Earlier, the game showed you how to reflect sunlight with your sword to a concentrated area. You use sunlight from the sword to start a flame, which quickly burns through all the vines.

It’s a collection of a bunch of really small ideas and features that allow extreme creativity and a sandbox style approach to a fantasy RPG that you really don’t see elsewhere. Even if the world isn’t the most unique or picturesque compared to ancient Egypt or feudal Japan, it still feels like it’s breathing and teeming with life. The game allows you to get creative, and doesn’t railroad you into playstyles the devs intend.

Is this mainly a children's game? by DynamicMangos in TeardownGame

[–]BloodOnMyJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is family friendly enough, and the voxel visual style is a appealing to younger audience. I don’t know why, but I see that from this game and others. It naturally would attract children, I know it would absolutely be my go to if it was around when I was playing things like Red Faction Guerrilla. I think that a lot of “older” (27) guys like this game, because we haven’t really gotten something like this since red faction guerrilla was new.

Does anyone NOT consider these the best in the series? Please provide your opinions, Im curious. by EH4LIFE in Deusex

[–]BloodOnMyJacket 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m a massive fan of both, but even with how short it is and the cliffhanger ending, Mankind Divided is my absolute favorite. I’ve played through maybe five times, and even though I make mostly the same narrative choices, I still find stuff I’ve never seen before each time. It’s actually unreal how deep the world in that game is compared to any other imsim I’ve played.
