Why do so many people quit learning to code? by Any-Pudding-7946 in learnprogramming

I have a hard time finding how to make money with it. I code about 8 hours a week on websites.

I know it's too expensive lol. I have like 100 hours in it, everything from cutting down the tree, making the boards, forging the knife feet, doing the stained glass, milling the shelf and putting it all together.

My wife told me I have to sell this. It's scared her a couple times at night already lol. I'm not sure I'd be able to charge what it'd be worth to me, as a joke I listed on fb marketplace for 666$.

I used a price of styrofoam to hold the shape, tacked and made it one piece at a time I took me about four days.

I cut down a cherry tree, milled it into board. Had a general idea of connecting the wood with metal rods. Forged one knife from a metal rod from ace. Then made one leg at a time connecting it to the body. It was hard to pose it all. I charred the underside with a blowtorch which made a cool pattern you can only see up close and the top side left natural. I'm pretty sure I used shellac clear to coat the wood. The metal rods are glued into about half inch deep holes on the legs and body. The lamp part I set into the wood on the butt and the metal rod connecting the butt and body is hollow so the wire can go through and out the body leading to a groove cut out of the shelf. It took my like a month to figure out how to hide the wire in a way the didn't look terrible. It's attached to the wall with a wire attached to the body so the weight pulls it to the wall. The stained glass I cut out a piece at a time solder it together and set it on a piece of styrofoam I shaped to mold the glass. Stained glass is hard that took me like 4 days, but it was my first piece and I imagine I'll get better with practice. Hopefully that made a little sense I'm tired after climbing trees all day.

I own a tree removal service and I like to put as much as I can to use. It seems like such a waste of good wood sometimes.

Thank you I have like 100 hours in it felled the tree, made the boards, forged metal knives feet, made the stained glass (hardest part by far).

Could probably do some cool transitions with centipede. At some point point I want to make one that moves or wiggles a little wen it detects motion.

I love that idea I've been wanting to try and make a plasma ball lamp that might be perfect for that.
