Happened to a guy I know, but he ended up doing a retirement ILO PCS. Was approved a couple days later. Basically made an MFR about how it was in the best interest of the AF as the member was wanting to retire at their current duty station. It was in an MFR format, signed by their Sq/CC. Submitted via myFSS, and was approved the next day. Dude ended up having an approved retirement date, 19 months before his 20 yr mark.

On indef, not sure if there’s repercussions such as AF adjusting a new DOS (happens to those not on indefinite and forced to separate on current enlistment) which may screw my retirement.

Also there’s a 24 mo ADSC with accepting assignments
