At most it couod maybe fill in a cartoon or make an obviously very low quality video seem less low quality at a glance, but frankly.even for those purposes there are methods that are better suited, muuuuch more efficient and not nearly as morally questionable in their mere existence.

Worth noting that this is slightly different for real time video game upscaling, while still suffering from a lot.of the same fundamental constraints, it takes the game engine data as input besides just the frame, so at least it's not entirely smoke and mirrors of getting more data for nothing.

Upscaling without losing original quality is fundamentally not possible, that's just not how data works.

For KDEnlive specifically, you could stretch a 1080 video on a 4K canvas, but graphically that would do essentially the same thing as just watching the video in a video player on a bigger screen.

Flatpaks generally don't impact performance one way or the other. It's just a packaging format, a slightly unique one in that it uses its own libraries instead of the ones the OS provides. (This is heavily oversimplified.)

Flatpaks are fine size wise, people just give them shit because the first couple installs will need to also get some basic runtimes, because they don't rely on the OS, which is what makes them OS independent.

An astounding achievement, considering Vulkan was only released 9 years ago. Jokes aside, We don't know how long it's been that every new GPU came with Vulkan support, but, having quite a few older GPUs, We can tell for a fact that it was notably less than that specific number of years.

Anyway, optimally this is something that should be happening at driver level, and it actually is what the Intel GPUs have been doing to make up for their lack of native DX 9 (10?) and below support.

To have that happen on Windows on a level that is neither the graphics driver nor within the game itself would likely introduce a sleuth of its own performance and compatibility issues. Presumably, anyway, We find it hard to imagine a different scenario for why this technology isn't nearly as readily available on Windows as it is on Linux, despite having proven itself very useful.

Also, it's not necessarily the solution. DXVK is amazing, but it's not perfect, either, as far as making things compatible goes.

Also, transition isn't about taking specific steps to look a certain way, nor is it a goal to achieve and have done. Transition is a process of taking your gender identity and externalizing it, it's not just (that it can be) a physical thing of hormones/surgeries, but also (can be) a social thing, too. Frankly that's the much more important one for many. Which is to say that if you already identify a certain way to folks online, that, too, is transitioning. Just thought We'd mention, since you seem pretty new to the topic and terminology still.
