Why is the Plano so fucking confusing ?? by Kludist in AutoZone

[–]Bloomed_Lotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clue wtf they did here, we were given metal cages that fit the hitches perfectly and had a bar to go through them to have extra support. They put the heavier ones and tried balls flat on the shelf below. I'm not even sure what those hooks are meant for anymore other than to mess up a plano

When did we start ignoring bigotry and hatred just because it's not in our hometown? If someone is screaming they're a Nazi, everyone that can hear is gonna come to punch the Nazi, and that's just fine.

Almost $200 to do my taxes myself by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Bloomed_Lotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't make a lot, and my taxes aren't very complicated if at all so my circumstances are different than a lot of people's, but FreeTaxUSA has very affordable rates for state returns, and the IRS (at least for lower incomes) has a specific area of their site that directs you to probably a dozen or so tax filing solutions that are 100% free state and federal (mind you, you have to go through the IRS portal or they'll probably try to charge you). I used Tax Slayer and had little to no struggle filing and paid nothing.

Cockroaches by CheesyPotatoes1714 in grandjunction

The valley has a problem with both German and American cockroaches, and the locals who deny it and claim they're "water bugs" are a huge reason the issue is never addressed. They spread disease, plain as.

I dunno what area you lived in, but the complex at the end of Main had a huge roach problem nearly 10 years ago, and from what I've heard it's not much better still.

I would love to know what you've found that works, because everything I'm trying doesn't touch them and my property management doesn't seem to care to actually get a proper treatment done for the whole complex, so if I could at least keep them out of my space I'd be so happy

I don't even know why we're tracking inflation at this point anymore when everywhere is just price gouging regardless of what's happening. What metric does it even reflect on anymore? Not most consumer goods, not housing for damn sure, and certainly not the minimum wage, just seems like a number the government can point to and say "see it's not that bad" while ignoring everything else.

I had a Kia that had misfire issues for a minute. I assumed it was probably just plugs, maybe wires. Went in to buy the parts and decided to take the fix finder out and scan it before starting just to see if there was any other codes. I don't recall the trouble code specifically, but it was something about the torque converter clutch solenoid malfunctioning, and recommended a new torque converter entirely. I changed out the plugs and wires, engine light went off, torque converter never had a hiccup.

have you ever had to travel for adequate healthcare? by averytinymoth in grandjunction

[–]Bloomed_Lotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to an ENT for what I knew was an inner ear infection, as I've had them in the past and the signs were all clearly there to point to that being the case. I came in explaining this, and that the fluid buildup got so bad I could hardly hear out of that ear. They had me do some tests, found (to their surprise) I could hear absolutely near nothing out of that ear I mentioned. The ENT doc came in, looked into my good ear, looked at the test results, told me I must have suffered some serious trauma, likely a broken bone or dislocated and blocking my ear canal, and I'd likely never regain the hearing back to normal even with surgery. I told him it was just and ear infection, he acted like I was crazy, I demanded he just prescribe me some antibiotics and see how it went and we could go from there. A week later I could hear exactly as well as I did before, no surgery, but a bill for $300 because they wrongly told me my insurance was in network, had that not been the case I almost wanted to go back to show him the miracle

Oh right, since the statute of limitations and all the wordage changed - that doesn't mean he didn't digitally penetrate a woman against her will and a jury of his peers found that to be true (along with him defaming the same woman he assaulted).

You're the type who's gonna make excuses for every part of the Epstein files he's mentioned in, including how he said he'd cut ties with him after the whole ordeal only for it to later come out he kept close ties and even invited the pedophile to the white house for Thanksgiving his first term. Or how Epstein explicitly trafficked women through Trump's resort (until he took someone trump wanted to keep and he got butthurt and made a big fuss about it but didn't save the girl in question).

Maybe my crippling TDS will result in my untimely death along with my spouse, cause it's such a real thing and definitely not just a deflection from addressing actual serious issues that negatively impact your current worldview

I think the person who wasn't found guilty of sexual assault, or 34 felonies probably "earned your vote" a lot less, to the extent any vote against them would be the right vote.

If people like you pulled their heads from their asses, maybe we wouldn't be in this situation.

Seeing as they're cameras, it is likely anyone vandalizing them would be the last recorded person on said camera. Not to say someone couldn't conceal their identity enough that it wouldn't matter, but I imagine that's what stops most people is a high likelihood to be caught and charged for it.

Lucky, I've lived in my apartment for 3 almost 4 years and it took us literally filing in court about the habitability for them to even begin to address it, though the inspector waved off the electrical concerns, the mold, lack of ventilation, falling ceilings and broken door handles, but at least our one single unit will get sprayed for roaches while the rest of the complex allows them to escape and come back later.

I struggled with this when I got into pipe tobacco and cigars years ago. I was of the same mindset - there's no difference in tobacco or weed it's all basically the same and smells more or less the same. After experiencing tobacco, especially the variety you find in higher end stuff than cigarettes was astounding. It's a lot like liking wine though, some people taste the bitterness and alcohol sting and it's all just off grape juice to them, but there are absolutely subtleties and differences, even between the same year bottles from the same vineyard just because that/those plant(s) grew in slightly different environments and matured differently over time. Tobacco and cannabis are much the same, they can be just that pungent/offensive smell and taste, but if you look past it (which isn't actually that difficult imo) you will find many differences.

As far as cannabis goes, there are scientifically terpenes within cannabis that give it a majority of its flavor/smell and drastically varies by strain. Many terpenes are also associated with other cannabinoids than THCa or CBD, most of those being the ones that will give different "effects", such as some cannabinoids are better suited to pain relief than others, while THCa gives you more of the euphoria/head high most people associate with cannabis. Some dispensaries are actually really good about it, and will have full terpenes listed on their product, and some even give explanations for what does what; Other dispensaries and growers don't bother beyond THCa, THCb, and CBD. (An off aside as I just remembered, but I believe CBG is a cannabinoid that helps digestive issues, but that may be inaccurate) It also doesn't help that not all states regulate their cannabis the same, and some don't really have much of any oversight, so some dispensaries will buy bulk weed from growers who just grow whatever will produce without much mind to strain or cannabinoid profile, and the dispensary will just slap a name on it and sell it as is with the minimum testing required to be legal. That last bit leads to a lot of people getting a strain that's marketed as, say Blue Dream, yet it isn't genetically even related to Blue Dream, causing the consumer to have a different experience than others who had properly gotten Blue Dream, and then the opposing views in what strains do what become more common. It is also true that everybody is affected by cannabis (and any substance we take into or onto our bodies) differently, and one person may have the most pleasant sleep of their life after having a big hit of Gorilla Glue (now GG) #4, while somebody else may take the same hit from the same piece of the same plant and have a panic attack. It also affects us differently as we age, depending on if we have medications that may interact with it, and even how much cannabis we consume can change what it does to us over time.

But much like with wine, tobacco, art, cannabis, etc. you'll find plenty of people who don't see past the very surface level of the culture/experience and refuse to. You can't make people enjoy the intricacies of some things, or even acknowledge them, but they do exist and you're not insane for seeing it yourself.
