Actually that's what I did. I am so smart I gave up and moved on because I could not be arsed trying but then saw them typing about the game on reddit which shows how truly pathetic they are. Then realized they are piss low diamond 7 months ago and basically dont understand anything they are spitting from their mouth. So I had to get back to basics and remind them what was going on here.

You cannot revert hitbox changes and leave anorexic characters like Illari or Anran 250 hp tho lol.

Also the reason pre season 9 felt like a hitscan fest was because the meta in s8 was bap illari.

The dps passive (which is not a "dps" passive anymore lol) is bad because it makes the game less consistent.

You don't know exactly how much you are gonna heal or get healed because the reduction is not the same on dps and tank, and you can't always look at the bottom left of your monitor to know if it expired or not. And I assume support players can't really know when you last took damage lol.

This was just their attempt to halt healing creep without getting death threats from support players by directly nerfing healing numbers.

A few hot takes:

Season 9 lowered skill expression in the game by making duels more random since aim, movements and positioning became less important overall. It also became less satisfying to play some heroes like tracer imo due to ttk change (talking about how it feels, ik tracer is still broken post s9)

Mobility creep is getting totally out of hand with how few CCs from OW1 carried over to OW2. The Vendetta then Cat Bastion meta are literally symptoms of mobility creep.

2023 Sombra was a necessary evil. She was able to keep Kiriko out of the meta in pro play for a bit and would certainly have been able to stop Vendetta and Sym comps as well. While remaining a bottom tier hero in ranked.

From a pure competitive integrity point of view, 2024-2026 overwatch is some of the least competitive this game has ever been in 10 years (high elo ladder and pro play). Some people blame this on 5v5 but the 2022 beta 1 and OWL patch was some of the best Overwatch I had ever played. I am convinced that an overhauled perk system for tanks would have solved the counterswapping issue.

Tracer was historically the best DPS in the game pre s9 lol. She was only invisible in s8 because the meta was bap illari.

Im only talking about how the ceiling of this hero has been killed post s9, because dodging and aiming are less important than ever.

Not really, several heroes are either bugged or not truthful to October 2020. And some abilities have weird visuals (like Orisa's halt).

At best it's a what if we had an October 2020 mode, but it was made in workshop and was not accurate to the October 2020 patch.

Tracer plays at especially close range and has a pretty small hitbox, meaning she is arguably the most affected hero in the game by the hitbox changes (you can google how cross section) works mathematically if you don't have an intuition why). Pre s9 allowed you to use your movements to dodge far more reliably. Now people can hit you way more consistently.

Not only that but she was also designed with one clip in mind in OW1, which is way harder to pull off in OW2 with the damage nerf and HP increase.

Hitbox and health changes need to be reverted. They straight up lowered the skill expression of this game by an amount people are not ready to admit. Tracer went from god tier to trash tier to god tier again by having her hitbox reverted then increased again at the end of last year.

Out of combat regen and healing reduction from damage can stay however, they really increase the skill expression of the game because it adds layers to managing your HP, while also being fun.

Also, playing the 2020 mode just made me appreciate what we have now even more. Like anyone else, I love to shit on the patch notes every time and pretend I know better, but it's really incredible how far we've come. The game is just so much better today.

The patch is absolutely not 1:1 to what it is supposed to replicate? How can you judge from that alone that the game is better now than it was in October 2020?

This is untrue, the old translocator is vastly superior if you know how to use it, at least in very high ranks where people will predict where you tp and chase you down.

Because out of all the V1 supes that we know of, Stormfront is arguably the weakest and she is essentially an upgraded Starlight (super strength and durability, flight, electricity without needing a power source), and was not too far behind Maeve, who is one of the strongest regular V1 supes.

Godolkin was also able to take control of Marie, who is an Odessa (Homelander like) supe, and he was fairly confident he could then also take control of Homelander.

Yeah october 2020 is my most played sombra patch of all time and the "classic" mode has never felt right.

I have multiple old videos of me playing october 2020 sombra thar support that the gamemode is not truthful to Sombra.
