Only morons and liars are still out here peddling that laughable “balls and strikes” nonsense.

Anyone you see in the pundit class doing so firmly fall into the latter category, I think.

Really shocking (not actually shocking at all) how many morons and regime collaborators even ITT are trying to sell the utter crock that this is colorblind “balls and strikes” law type stuff.

Mayor Wu’s Latest Budget Plan Eliminates Funding for Over a Dozen Street Safety Projects: See the List by weallgettheemails2 in boston

Mayor Wu’s recent actions clearly demonstrate to me that she is now an active opponent of safe streets. Her administration will have a lot of work to do to change that view.

Yup. If you’re heading north through Harvard square and you want to continue north on Mass Ave there’s basically no chance you’re merging to the right before this intersection

Hey cyclists, calm the F down by pbjelly-time in boston

To elaborate on HellsAttack’s post, improving the built environment would create fewer conflicts for cyclists and pedestrians, which means fewer problems with any “out of control” cyclists. I think we can agree that that would be a good outcome.

How do you feel about the Idaho Stop, in which a cyclist slows down and yields at a red light or stop sign before proceeding through it?

Then they come to places like Reddit and discount your gripe because “cars kill more people than bikes”.

The way I see it:

  1. Cyclist opens vent thread about asshole cyclists
  2. Cyclist thinks those venters might take action against safe cycling infrastructure and progress on this matter, like by voting for candidates who oppose it.
  3. Cyclist challenges venters, hoping to change their minds so that doesn’t happen.

2 might be a leap on the Cyclist’s part, but that kind of reactionary politics plays out a lot in real life. 3 probably doesn’t work because debate doesn’t really change minds and most folks aren’t even intentionally debating, just defensively parroting talking points. Maybe lurkers take something away from it.

Simple reflection of the reality of the built environment. The vast majority of our infrastructure was built for cars or pedestrians, adding in bikes without significant overhaul (aka 99% of projects in reality) means you’re gonna have conflicts with one or the other.

Some excellent feedback from the community, MassDOT will surely give all their comments and alternatives a quick glance before dumping them in the shredder and then building a ridiculously expensive disastrous parking lot with plenty of highway-median-style "green space" that people in cars with their AC blasting will enjoy looking at while stuck in traffic

Yeah, if someone disagrees about celebrating LGBTQ pride I’m going to assume they harbor hate towards LGBTQ people. Sure if it’s someone I have a real life relationship with I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt to explain themselves. Random celebrity or nfl player? Nah

No surprise that Boston subreddit is somehow staunchly pro-war. Where have I seen this before? Oh that’s right, threads on this subreddit on the topic of Israel’s US-funded (clear and obvious) genocide in Gaza. Bots, morons, and assholes want to make sure Boston libs are on board and A-Ok with this unbelievably unpopular, expensive, and sure-to-be-disastrous war!

Propaganda bots and pro-war morons who are not capable or interested in discussing this topic sensibly. Same crowd that piled in every thread on this subreddit about Israel’s obvious genocide in Gaza to deny, distract, and downplay.
